Florida–Jon Sumrall hot take: Florida is going to become one of the most annoying teams in the SEC to play way faster than people expect.🔥

Sumrall is going to have Florida ahead of schedule, but they’re not skipping the growing pains. I could see the Gators finishing 8–4 with a loss to Auburn being the head-scratcher on the résumé.
Auburn is starting fresh under Alex Golesh after its rough 2025 season, so that feels like the exact type of SEC game where Florida could get caught.
Prediction: Florida 8–4, including an L to Auburn, but still looks noticeably better in Year 1 under Sumrall. 👀🐊

The most underrated team in SEC this upcoming season🏈

That’s a REAL sleeper too, because the SEC media picked Auburn 12th out of 16 teams.

Why I’m watching them: Alex Golesh + Byrum Brown gives Auburn a completely different offensive identity, and LB Xavier Atkins was voted preseason first-team All-SEC. I’m not calling them an SEC champion yet, but I could absolutely see them being that team everybody has ranked around 10th–12th in the conference that suddenly goes 8–4 or 9–3 and ruins somebody’s Playoff hopes.

My sleeper tier would be: Auburn = biggest sleeper, South Carolina = dangerous sleeper, and Missouri = don’t-forget-about-them team. Missouri has more respect nationally, though, so Auburn is the spicier pick.

🔥 HOT TAKE: Auburn finishes higher than at least TWO of Florida, Tennessee, Missouri and South Carolina

🔥 HOT TAKE: Alabama needs to bring the white helmets back at least ONCE.

It wouldn’t even be abandoning tradition even though most of us weren’t alive. White helmets are part of Alabama’s history, and they haven’t worn them since 1984. I would like to imagine the white helmet, crimson numbers, crimson stripe, white jersey and white pants for one huge road game. 😮‍💨
Alabama doesn’t need new uniforms at all, what if they bring an OLD tradition back. 🐘⚪️🔴

HOT TAKE: LSU should introduce an all-gold uniform combination in 2026. 🐯🔥

Gold helmet. Gold jersey. Gold pants. Purple numbers and accents.
LSU’s traditional uniforms should always remain the standard, but one all-gold appearance under the lights in Tiger Stadium could be one of the most memorable looks in college football.
Tradition matters, but there is nothing wrong with creating a new tradition.
