Do borders contract if you deconstruct what was expanding them?

Basically I wanted to preemptively expand my borders a bit since I'm following a specific plan. I built a guard tower and it seemed to expand normally, but when I deconstructed it, the borders seem to go back to normal (Note there were no other buildings nearby). Does That mean I just have to keep the guard towers in place while expanding the borders? Additionally, if I deconstruxt the guard tower after building the new structure, but the structure're natural land claims don't actually reach my old border, what happens (like levl 1 guard towers claim a 2 chunks, whay ig I build a building in chunk 2 that has a 1 chunj radius?

Questions about fortrees style

So I've started building in the fortress style following a guide and I had a few questions. Are all the buildings that are 16 by 16 or 16 by 8 and have straight railways interchangable in placement? Additionally, for the field presets are there any options without the rails because they seem to be independently layed out in the plan I'm following so I'd prefer they just be walking accesed. If not how should I reconfigure the dimensions?

Starting over in a new world. What style should I use (I found oak, birch, dark oak and spruce) and how does the fortress style work?

Basically my first builder got shot by pillagers and I didn't have a recent backup so I'm starting a new world (I also kinda like the feeling of restarting with more insight). I wanted to try a new style this time so I wanted suggestions based on what I have and what isn't too irritating to build. Also I wanted to ask about how the fortress style is meant to be built. I get its based on chunks and the buildings seem tho connect. However I don't get what the tiny rail area next to the buildings is about and how exactly I'm supposed to connect everything since the book in the starting camp seems to not have saved the text

What exactly does pickup priority do. Does it prioratize both picking up from inventory and dropping off requests or is it just picking up items?

So my colony has started automating production in a couple of areas now such that I might be getting bottlenecked by courier speed. As such I wanted to understand what pickup priority is so I can slightly optimize their deliveries. Mainly I wanted to know if it is just about picking up items and delivering them too. Also how exactly does the difference in the prioraty matter. Is it just a tiering system where they always do the max tier first before moving onto next , or is it more specific

How do you make custom structure styles. Can I make an individual building of a specific level?

Basically on a previous post someone suggested making a guard tower out of dirt for easy border expansion. I wanted to know howmuch work that would take and how exactly I could do it

Are guard towers the best way to expand borders. If so, should I upgrade them or leave them at level 1 (my highest builders are at 3)

Basically I've started reaching the limit of my current borders, especially since I tend to leave a space of 4 between each building. I wanted to know if there are any buildings better for border expansiob

A regular pillager raid party just spawned in/ near my town and killed my builder, how do I stop this?

Basically I was doing work supplying my builders when a random pillager party killed one near the edge of my colony. I haven't encountered mob issues because The major areas are lit up and I generally just sleep really fast so regular mobs haven't been an issue. Do I need to build walls or do I need more guards.

How close do guard towers need to be to protect residences?

So I've been going through my backlog of residents' requests and a couple of them want guard towers near their homes. I've currently got I believe 6 residences closely packed in a 2 by 3 grid with 4 blocks between each residence. I put a guard tower on either side of the middle row . I want to know if the towers will cover all 6 or not

Help my cowherd keeps letting the cows out. How do I fix this

So I am using the medival oak style building at level 1 and I thought If I brought the cows to the fenced barn looking areas she would easily take care of them. She seems to breed them fine but they keep coming out. How can I fix this?

I just realised you can teach people recepies. How exactly does this work, and can they use crafting blocks?

Basically can they use a crafting table, furnace stonecutter or more? Also do they only craft what they need/ produce or can I say have my courier craft some generally useful recepies like tools

Basically I have been slowly clearing out pqs cus I'm bored and don't want to buy anything new for a bit. However its been irritating seeing all the enemies dodge or block my beams, and I don't wanna use emeperors death beam cus it ends up taking much longer than needed unless the enemy has massive health. I'm playing a male saiyan btw

Basically I built a mine cus my residents wouldn't stop bothering me, but I ended up building it over water cus I didn't have space. The builder didn't seem to have an issue and the thing looked fine aside from some water in the hole which I filled out with dirt. My mine worker however only asked for 32 cobblestone and doesn't seem to do anything. I was hoping to get stone and maybe ores automated, so is there something I can do to make them work.

Basically I had 5 people before and I realised that they all had jobs so I couldn't get a courier to start automating basic stuff like wheat delivery to bakers. But the 2 of the visitors wanted like 40 apples which I didn't have and 1 35 porkchops, which they would probably dissapear before I find. There were much better visitors before but they seemed to despawn way faster, so is there a way to manually reset/ despawn them that I accidentally triggered. Also an aside, is there a point to building residences instead of taverns considdering I'm getting 4 beds in the tavern?
