Like i notice it happening every time I go for an evade I still get hit on the other side by her Phantom Pursuit... but Lord forbid you make her as targetable while she's in her i frames dealing tons of (clearly unavoidable) damage
She’s meant to be a brawler, right? In her current state, most of her damage is only really noticeable at mid-range, her ult (aside from destroying deployables) can barely secure kills, and her Spark damage isn’t what it used to be. Just watch her release trailer for reference.
Her initial kit is what made her somewhat different from Hela. She actually had to get up close and dirty to do her thing, but she also had the tools to survive there, which is what a brawler should have. Just look at Bucky, with attacks that have hitboxes the size of a building and a million overshields, or Elsa, who has significantly less damage falloff.
I’m not saying we should bring the bayblade tech back, that was definitely toxic. But I would like to see her get some of her stronger healing-over-time back when detonating Sparks, as well as getting her melee Sparks and reload during flight back. I think that would keep her much more in line with the other brawl-type DPS characters while still avoiding the unhealthy parts of her old kit.
P.S. I don’t know what the general sentiment toward Jean is here. I’m assuming it’s somewhat negative since she’s been strong for so many seasons. I’m not trying to start any angry arguments or anything, I just wanted to share what I think about her current kit and where she fits in the meta.

Her ult VFX an actual dark Phoenix, almost completely black with red+purplish undertones at the edge of its silhouette, dotted with multiple stars
Also they should do everything in their power to make it not look bulky. I know its hard due to her model, she has a bit of a stronger build, but make it slick, flowing, and also no over-designing....i want it to be a exact replica of the costume from the page!

Like I feel we wont be getting a new installment and or a remaster anytime soon (could be looking at 10 years of Bayo drought). Cause not only did the third game went poorly sales and audience wise. Like completely butchering the story and it being the ugliest one engine wise...but also stylish action games don't seem to ever break into the mainstream like souls-like games do, and they are still making them even when the market is oversaturated. Even with the success of DMC 5, Capcom doesn't seem all that interested to continue with DMC 6 and are instead continuing pumping out Resident Evil remakes.
Also the turmoil Platinum Games is having internally, with the team breaking up and Hideki especially leaving...I dont see Bayo's future as being bright 🥺
Like my overall damage feels so lackluster, my ult can barely score a single kill now. The shots feel like pebbles compared to any other hitscan hero. Even the chain explosion feels weaker.
