Any guys hike in half tights?

I have a pair of Janji half tights that are great for running. And I’m mainly a cyclist so I’m used to wearing spandex.

I’m thinking of wearing a pair of these instead of my normal shorts and a liner under them.

I understand HYOH and that I should wear what I want but I can’t remember seeing any guys wearing them the last time I did the JMT.

I’m 52yo in case that matters. But in fairly good shape so it shouldn’t look like a sad bag of oatmeal.

Wife is considering new SL5…Apex RD question

My wife is looking at a Checkpoint SL 5 AXS Gen 3 and she took it on a test ride. But of us were surprised at how loud the SRAM Apex XPLR AXS sounded when it went into gear. It was a loud thunk that I could hear from 20-30 feet away.

Seems like a minor issue but it annoys her and I think it would annoy me as well. Would upgrading to a SL6 w/the Rival E1 make a difference? Does it break in have less of a jarring sound after a while? Could we easily just upgrade the RD to a Rival /Force after the fact?

It’s a bit pedantic but major purchases like this don’t happen often for us and we want to make sure we’re not spending $4k on something that will bother her for the next 10 years.

Son got a DUI, along with a couple related charges. Use the PD or pay for an attorney?

Hi all. My adult son who is homeless, got a DUI and a hit and run charge. He claims that he wasn’t drinking until after that morning and blah blah blah.

Anyway, he has zero assets or income and will likely be assigned a public defender. Should I pony up and get him a private attorney or do the PDs do a good job negotiating with the prosecutor in Marion County?

I’m not excited at the idea of dropping thousands more into solving his problems but don’t want him crippled in terms of future employment.
