12ft fishing yak and motor, am I dumb to want the wireless all-in-one thing

I got a 12ft sit-on-top I mostly take on small freshwater lakes, finally looking at slapping a motor on so I'm not paddling back against the wind every time.

I saw this setup where the motor just clamps on and you control it wirelessly instead of a wired pedal that got my attention cause I hate drilling into the hull. But it's clearly first-gen from a company for batteries, not motors, and that makes me nervous. Who services it if it breaks in a year?

Before I drop money anyone actually running something like this on a fishing yak? mainly wanna know it'll push me and gear a few hours, won't die in a breeze, mount won't rattle loose. And is the "complete" unit worth it vs just bolting on a trolling motor Can I fix it myself???

And can't really tell if the all-in-one stuff is the future or a trap for early buyers.

Someone filmed me during an argument in a mall can I report them to the police??

I had a super stressful situation at a mall in Dubai yesterday. So actually, I got into a verbal argument with a security guard over a parking spot and some random guy pulled out his phone and started recording my face while shouting I'm putting this on tiktok. I repeatedly told him to stop filming me and delete it, but he just laughed and walked away. I know UAE cybercrime law is super strict about taking photos/videos of people without permission, but can I actually go to the police station or use the dubai police app to report this if I don't know the guy's name? I am really uncomfortable with the thought of my face ending up on social media over a stupid argument.

Hello redditors, if divorcing under the new UAE civil personal status law then do we need to prove fault?

So I am looking for some honest advice from anyone who’s gone through a civil divorce in dxb recently. My wife and I are non muslim expats and we’ve basically agreed to split after years of drifting apart, but we’re totally confused about how the legal process actually works here. Someone told me that under the new civil personal status law for non muslims you can just apply for a unilateral no fault divorce without having to go through months of mandatory family guidance reconciliation sessions or proving who messed up. Is it really as simple as filing the application online at the court, or are there hidden traps when it comes to splitting assets and sorting out joint child custody? We really want to keep things civil for our kids and avoid burning tens of thousands of dirhams on competing family law firms if we can just do joint custody by mutual agreement.

What's the biggest legal mistake expats make here without realizing it?

Lately, I have been thinking about this, because a buddy who just moved to Dubai is assuming laws here work the exact same as back to his home, which is a massive trap. I know here in Dubai so many people have no clue about UAE cybercrime laws and think they can just swear in a private whatsapp chat or leave a nasty google review calling someone a fraud without facing real legal consequences. Or they blindly sign the final mohre clearance paper before their gratuity actually hits their bank account, which basically kills any chance of getting their money if the company defaults. For anyone who’s been here a while, what’s the absolute single biggest legal blunder or trap you’ve seen expats fall into just because they didn't know how things work here?

BBQ, FIFA on TV, and good company. Couldn't ask for a better evening.

We fired up the grill before kickoff, watched the match together in home at big screen, and enjoyed some great food. Sharing a couple of BBQ pics!

HP OMEN won't boot - keyboard lights and fans turn on for 5 seconds, then shuts off (No display, no BIOS)

(Used gpt to make this look readable)

Hi everyone,

My HP OMEN (Intel Core Ultra 7, RTX 5060, 24GB RAM, 1TB SSD) suddenly shut down while I was using it. There were no warning signs, no BSOD, nothing. It just powered off.

Now, whenever I press the power button:

The keyboard RGB lights turn on.

The fans spin for about 5–6 seconds.

The charging LED works normally.

The screen stays completely black (no HP logo).

I can't enter BIOS.

There are no Caps Lock or other LED blink codes.

After about 5–6 seconds, it shuts itself off.

Things I've already tried:

Held the power button for 60 seconds (hard reset).

Tried BIOS recovery using Windows + B.

Booting with only the charger connected.

Removed all external USB devices.

Nothing changed.

The laptop is still under warranty, so I haven't opened it or reseated the RAM.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Does this sound like a motherboard failure, BIOS corruption, or something else? I'd appreciate any insights before I hand it over for warranty repair.
