At-fault driver wrecked my car, insurance fell 25k short, worth suing him directly?

I was in a major accident, police report flagged the other driver 100% at fault for reckless driving.

His insurance paid the statutory max for a total loss, but it's almost 25,000 aed less than what the car was actually worth. Plus I had two months of rental car expenses out of my own pocket while the claim was dragging.

My lawyer suggested filing a civil tort lawsuit against the driver to recover the shortfall and consequential damages. Anyone here actually sued an individual after an accident like this? and how do civil judges usually treat secondary financial losses, are they receptive or do they brush them off?

I have a will in my home country. Do I need a separate one for my Dubai property?

I bought an apartment in Dubai a few years ago, but most of my other assets are in my home country. I already have a will prepared there, and it names the people I want to inherit my estate.

Someone recently told me that having a foreign will doesn't necessarily mean everything will be dealt with easily in the UAE. Now I'm unsure whether I need another document or whether my existing will can be recognised here. I also don't want to accidentally create two wills that contradict each other. That seems like it could cause more problems than having only one.

Has anyone with property in the UAE and assets overseas dealt with this? Did you have your existing will reviewed, register a UAE specific will, or take another route? I'd appreciate suggestions on what to ask a qualified UAE inheritance lawyer before making any changes.

Another UAE business is using a logo that looks almost like mine, What should I do?

I run a small business here in the UAE, and a few days ago I came across another company using a logo that looks very close to ours. It's not an exact copy, but the layout and overall design are similar enough that I can see customers mixing us up.

We've been using our logo for a while on our website, social media and invoices. I still have the original design files and messages with the designer, but I'm not sure if we ever completed a trademark registration. I need to check that properly.

I haven't contacted the other company yet. I don't want to send them a legal threat and then find out I don't have the grounds to do that.

For anyone familiar with UAE trademark law, what should I check first? If the logo isn't registered, does the fact that we've been using it for some time and have dated records help at all?

Also, would it make sense to speak to a trademark lawyer before contacting them, or is there a straightforward first step I should take?

I scraped a parked car and drove off cause I didn't notice, now police filed a hit and run report?

I am posting here because I'm super stressed and need clarity.

So last night I was parking in a tight basement spot, felt a small bump, looked in my mirror, didn't see any obvious damage, so I just parked down the street. And then this afternoon dubai police called asking me to come to the traffic department right away, the owner got my plate from cameras and filed an official report for leaving the scene, hit and run under uae traffic law.

I had zero intention of dodging anything, I just didn't see any damage. What happens when I go in? criminal citation automatically? court referral? or can I explain it was a mistake, get the red accident slip for insurance, and pay the fine on the spot?

What are legal consequences for the guy filming and touching women for viral clips?

So everyone is talking about that guy in dubai bumping into women and filming it for social media. Aside from privacy laws under the cybercrime act, doesn't physical contact like that cross into harassment/indecency under UAE criminal law? It makes me curious about how strict prosecution usually is with this kind of stuff and if deportation is standard for foreign creators doing this.
