FOH workers

If you work in FOH is your only job to help customers or do you do other things too? Some dept I see FOH ppl stand around and twiddle their thumbs if they’re not with a customer while BOH ppl run around like crazy. Other dept I see FOH go to BOH to grab work while in between customers.

AITAH for scheduling someone like this?

One of my part time employees asked for more hours and said they can work any shift, any length of shift, and any station. I scheduled them their usual 3 8hr shifts and then found 3 4hr shifts doing various jobs at various times on top of that. I asked before scheduling the 3 4hr shifts to make sure they’d be ok with it. I explained that they were only 4 hrs because they would be doing specific tasks that only take 4 hrs. Our shift leader also sends people home early if they’re not doing much. This employee went to the shift lead upset because they take multiple modes of public transportation and it takes a while to get to work. The shift lead changed all 4hr shifts to 8hr shifts and switched all the times to their normal shift times. The shift lead was upset with me for scheduling the employee the way that I did and wouldn’t listen to my explications.

I got a grief therapist after my mom died. I usually schedule the next appointment at the end of each appointment but couldn’t this one time because I didn’t know my schedule. I texted a few days later giving a few options for days and times. Some before my mom’s 1 year anniversary and a some after. I got a read receipt but no reply. 3 months later I get a text saying “Just checking in. I have been thinking of you. Hope you are well.”

Edit: since you all want to blame me for not reaching out again… by the time I realized she hadn’t responded it was past the 1 year mark. In that time she started a new group text with me in it and texted the group. Because she remembered to add me to the group chat I assumed not responding to my text was intentional
