Renault Espace F1, my take on it

The original wheels of the Hot Wheels Renault Espace F1 match the version of the 1994 Paris Motorshow very closely. I wanted to replicate the second of the only two ever made, the one that Alain Prost and David Coulthard drove on circuits around the world for promotional activities.

MAN! That 3.5 liter V10 between the rear seats would have blown any passenger's helmet off 🪖🤣

I was 15 when this thing came out, were you as exited as I was?

First-time wheel swap fun!

A short while ago, I learned that some of the most popular diecast car photographers use wheel swaps for Hot Wheels to stand out of the crowd.

Just static, no messing around with axles and pins. No need to have the cars rolling for a photoshoot.

This week I tried some myself.

I do understand that this goes beyond what Hot Wheels intends: affordable, playable toy cars.

Adding a 9 euro set of wheels to a 2 euro mainline car makes it 11 euros 🫣🤣, almost the money spent on a MiniGT or Tarmac Works.

The main advantage is, that the wheels become poseable: hanging low when off the ground, steering and drifting can be simulated. And MAN! does it upgrade the looks!!

Ofcourse, posing the wheels will be able with the original Hot Wheels rims too. I need to try that, to see if that already ups the impression.

What do you think, should a diecast photographer's collection go totally wheelless?

And is a wheel swap considered a "custom"? (hint: I don't think so 🤫)

Switch OLED find information with S/N

Hey people with knowledge!

I am totally new to Nintendo and console gaming for that matter...

For my kids, I want to purchase a Switch OLED. Is there a place to enter the serial number and see the specs, updates and maybe some device history?

Thanks for getting me started in the Nintendo realm 👍

D'oh! Hot Wheels Simpsons car

It's #HotWheelsAxL week on Instagram, d'oh!!

Two highly regarded diecast photographers combine their following and groups to have a Hot Wheels themed week. I expect hundreds of photos under this hashtag.🙌

I kick the week off with the car from The Simpsons.

"Homer Simpson is rushing to his car: he pushed some wrong buttons with his feet, while eating a donut 🍩 at work... Now the plant is spilling radioactive goo ☢️ all over Springfield!"

Renault 4 East Africa Safari Rally 1962 in Tunisia

Some months ago, I took this Renault 4 East Africa Safari Rally by Norev to Tunisia.

I love rally, GT3 and endurance racing.

What is your favorite type of motorsport?

Introduction of Diecast.Pete

Dear fellow diecast fans!

I just joined Reddit and this sub. Please allow me to introduce myself and show you some of my work.

My name is Peter, a 1970s child (just barely) and a car enthousiast/petrol head since the age of 3.

Living in the Netherlands, with my wife and two children and not rich enough for a real car collection 🤣 So I started with scale models.

Have been a Porsche addict since my youth, albeit a quirky one: I only really like the 964 and 930 Turbo and am totally in love with the transaxles and 914. My favorite car of all time (and the only one I would sell a kidney for) is the Porsche 928. Preferably a first-gen.

Current Porsches do not rock my boat, except for the GT3 racers.

My other hyperfocus, next to (diecast) cars, is product photography. Not good at it, but I am trying to soak up everything that can inspire and improve me.

Avid instagrammer, with not enough time, but loving the community.

I'l share some of my pics here, let me know what you think. Or just stop by to say 'hi'! ♥️
