[Routine Help] M with Oily/Combo skin. Got greedy and broke out. Should I try a different Vitamin C or stick to the basics?

Hey everyone, looking for some advice on what exactly triggered this reaction and where to go from here!
My Skin Type: Combination with an oily T-zone.

For the longest time, my routine was super minimal. I was mostly just using the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua sunscreen, and occasionally applying the Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule. My skin was doing totally fine (see the Before photo).
But I got greedy and wanted that extra glow, so I decided to add two new products to my morning routine

  1. The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension .
  2. Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Poremizing Ampoule (the pink bottle)

For the first week, the combo was amazing,my skin became incredibly radiant. But by the start of the second week, the breakouts started. I developed these isolated, inflamed red bumps and a lot of tiny little bumps on my cheeks, which I’ve never really dealt with in the past (see the 2nd week photo).

I immediately stopped both the Vitamin C and the Poremizing Ampoule. I stripped my routine back for a week and just used Beauty of Joseon Sunscreen with Bioderma Atoderm Intensive gel.

After a week of this simple routine, the bumps and marks are pretty much entirely gone (see the currently photo)

What do you think triggered the breakout?
Any suggestions on what to do next? Should I look for vitamin c ?
