It PMO how Jax butchers the “likable asshole” trope
It’s one of my favorite archetypes in all of fiction, and Jax just botches it so bad.

It’s one of my favorite archetypes in all of fiction, and Jax just botches it so bad.
Jax is pathologically selfish. She would leave Ribbit to rot because she could reveal her secret.
She didn’t bat an eye at murder, driving a close friend to suicide, and sexual assault plans. So what would it take to completely sour her on Jax if she saw it in her brain?
As we learn in the finale, all the players are AIs based off of human brainscans.
Jax sees npcs as lesser to herself, to the extent of feeding them all to a giant sludge monster. But they’re both AIs, just different types. Different races of ai one could say.
Jax is racist.
These two antagonistic AI have more in common than you’d think at first glance. They’re both brainscans (Jax of Leeroy and Ultron of Hank Pym respectively) with Mommy issues and complicated relationships with their fathers. They’re even both animal themed! (Ultron was designed after an ant)
But if you put them side by side, it’s like comparing prime LeBron to a third grader. A third grader born without legs.
Ultron is a badass villain who’s an existential threat to the world and can fight the avengers by himself. Jax is a pathetic loser whose whole existence was one long temper tantrum.
Jax can’t even come back from abstraction. Ultron’s revived himself over a dozen times!
This is because Jax is only interested in women who are terrified of her.
In my experience with communists (specifically the western ones), they speak about “the revolution” like it’s inevitable.
But revolutions require winning the hearts and minds of the people, and it’s beyond me how communists expect any degree of success when they make their own ideology sound as appealing as rubbing your crotch against a cactus.
I’ve seen communists talk about forcing people into a life of grueling labor for the greater good of the planet, and scoff at people weary of parting with their luxury goods as selfish. It doesn’t matter how true you think that is, in the west any attempt to hamfist those ideals will make you a pariah faster than I can say Marx.
If I were to take a gander as to why, these communists enjoy making the assumption they’re bound to take power because it lets them think about how they can put their theory into practice. While on an intellectual level, I respect their devotion to theory, what good is it without a realistic plan to put it into practice?
If you can’t even see eye to eye with other flavors of communists how do you expect to court someone who hasn’t read a lick of Das Kapital? “It’s not my job to teach you”, does not an effective campaign pitch make.
Frankly, at least in America, the politically savvy thing to do would be ditching the name “communism” all together and call it something else. People might gravitate towards your ideas more if they weren’t anchored down by a word they’ve been taught to fear since the 40s.
Is he a remorseless mass murderer? That’s irrelevant. He only had one friend, Uraume, and they were chill.
He’s a Gangle fan.
The game is less than 2 weeks away, but that’s ample time for Nintendo to drop a bombshell on us. I’m thinking there’s more content that Nintendo’s keeping on the back burner until the last minute, and I’ve got a few guesses as for what.
-Level remixes
Just like how Venom had Venom 2, perhaps other planets will get the same treatment. Perhaps beating enough challenges unlocks new, harder variants of old zones.
-New planets
This one’s more fanciful, but what if warp zones were added that lead to brand-new planets altogether, maybe even new routes!
-Expanded endings
On the topic of routes, what if they used the cutscenes to the fullest? If you’re on the easy route, and or fail enough missions, maybe Fox doesn’t learn right lessons to be a leader and star Fox disbands. And if you get everything right, you not only get a good ending, but a brand new one that teases a sequel.
-New campaigns
A particularly ambitious possibility. What if after beating the main game, mirror campaigns were unlocked where you play as Falco, Slippy, or Peppy?
