Yanagisawa tenors play a bit flat?

I've been loaned a Yani T880 to see what I think.

The ergonomics are really cool and it responds really well, but it sure has a long warm-up period. I mean it plays noticeably flat to my ear for quite a long time before it comes up to pitch.

NOTE: I've got the mp pushed onto the neck about as far as I can get it, but it's still initially really flat.

On my own sax (Beaugnier-made early 50s Selmer Pennsylvania), I never have this problem. It plays in tune and at pitch right out of the case. I just lip notes slightly up or down as needed as I play. I don't even notice this anymore.

Has anyone else found Yanis tend to play a bit flat? This is my first time playing one, so maybe it's just my embouchure/choice of mp/reed)

MP is a slightly wider opening Buescher (50s era) and I like playing Legere Signature 2.25 reeds.
