Getting off old carpet glue, wood floors

Hey team just battling through getting very old carpet glue off so we can sand it back with the big boy walk behind sander.

We used acetone and it seemed ok but are there any future possible issues with this?

The belt sander seemed to just turn the glue to sticky tar like stuff.....

Otherwise any suggestions? Thanks!

Halp! Wood floor prep

Done a wood floor once before but have never seen staples so small that I can't get out. Really at my wits end? Get a few out but most snap and then impossible to get each separate bit of staple out. Any ideas! Thanks

Flooring transitions

We've just found underneath our cork flooring is some kinda particle board. We were hoping it would be wood like the rest of the house.

Has anyone come across anything similar? What did you do for transitions? Any photos would be amazing.

Gib stopping

Gib stopping at the using pre mix plus 4 and seems to be taking a while to dry not the usual 24-48 hours.

The weather has been cold and high humidity, 10-14 degrees, 80-90% humidity... which I guess is causing it? I've left windows open which helps with the air flow but just wondering if an oil heater or dehumidifier might be better?

Any real world advice would be appreciated, not chat GPT answers. Cheers team.

Best kneepads?

After leaving one wood panel in our feature wall not plumb I need to put on some kneepads and beg my Mrs not to hit me.

Nah but seriously I brought these kneepads from bunnings and they fucken suck. After crawling around in my roof for half a day they just slide all over the place and end up working as shin pads.

First half an hour into arc raiding on mouse and keyboard. How the hell do you guys run then slide? Moving my finger from shift to ctrl is so hard?
