Vacated flat and landlord doesn't have check in inventory

Hi,

I am in Scotland. A month ago I vacated the flat I was living for 6 years. The landlord didn't kept the check in/inventory document, while I still have it. The flat was very dirty when I entered (it was during covid and I wasn't allowed to do a viewing) and I didn't realize how bad it was at the time. The check in shows some of the issues the flat had. I received a check out from the estate agency and it's much more detailed than the check in, they mention things that are the tenants responsibility (mostly cleaning related) but I don't see it fair for me to leave the flat cleaner than how I found it. They are asking me if I have the check in report, because they found some items in the flat that were already there and I left them there. Should I send them the check in document? I don't want to shoot myself on the foot...

First passport application

Just got the password printed information. It's been a really long and stressful process. I applied last year and did the biometrics on October 27th. Received the atlas email on June 8th and manged to book the ceremony on June 12th.

I had the ceremony, applied and sent the documents to Corby in one hour. I also paid to get the documents delivered in the next working day since I saw that most people's documents take 1 week to get to it's destination.

I have been feeling very pressured because in the beggining of the month I gave notice to my landlord that I would be vacating the flat on June 30th. Everything should get to me before having to vacate.....relief.

When I was looking at other people's timelines I was aiming that I would have the application approved between 6 to 9 days, it was on the 8th day.

Good luck to everyone else.

Hífen in last name

Hi,

I applied for British passport and just realised that on my last name of the certificate one of the letters doesn't have an hifen but it is in my EU passport, the letter e is "é". Will this be a problem? Anything I can do now?

Leaving the country - what to do with very small and unused LISA

Hi,

I am leaving the UK and going back to my home country in Europe.

I have been in the UK for 8 years. I am 42 years old. I opened a LISA with moneybox when I was 39 thinking I would stay in the UK, so I opened it with £1, it's worth £1.8. I have a sipp with t212 where I consolidated all my work pensions (and will leave it in the UK because I can't take it with me to my home country)but I don't think it's possible to move this. Any ideas?

Changing addresses after passport application

Hi,

I booked the citizenship ceremony and intended to apply for a passport. The problem is that I am leaving my flat at the end of the month. Will this cause me issues? Should I wait until I move to ask for the passport?

Hi,

It's been more than six months since I applied for citizenship (reached six months period on April 27th). 5 weeks ago I emailed further inquiries for an update and was told that my application was accepted and that they would be sending the certificate to the council soon, still haven't received any atlas email. The problem is that I need to change flat, my landlord decided to increase rent and I need to cut my costs, so I am planning to move in with a friend. The problem is that I am waiting for the certificate to arrive but it just doesn't. Any information on this? Should I stay put?

I am going back to my home country (Portugal) in the upcoming months. I have a sipp with vanguard where I consolidated pensions from previous employers, it has around 60K and is invested in FTSE Global All Cap Index Fund Accumulation. I can't take move my pension because Portugal is not QROPS. I am planning to transfer the sipp to t212 and start withdrawing in about 15/16 years (I am 42). I have a bank account with bank of Scotland which I am hoping I can keep.

Does this seem like a reasonable plan?
