Matt's & Whataburger

I flew into Minneapolis and finished the trip in Kansas City for the World Cup quarterfinals. Whenever I travel, I always try to work a few memorable burger spots into the itinerary.

  1. Matt's Bar

I honestly never thought I'd get to try this one, simply because I never imagined myself visiting Minneapolis. So when I realized I'd be flying in there, Matt's Bar immediately went on the list. Of course I had the Jucy Lucy, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The burger was great, but I think the atmosphere made it even better. It's one of those old school American bars that just feels authentic. Really glad I finally got to experience such an iconic place.

  1. Whataburger

I've read about Whataburger on this sub for years, but despite a bunch of trips to the US, I'd never been anywhere near one. Since I was in Kansas, I finally got my chance. I ordered the Sweet & Spicy Bacon Burger and absolutely loved it. I was surprised by how substantial it was, and one thing I really appreciated was how they build their burgers. Nice and wide instead of trying to stack everything into a skyscraper. People here always talk about that, and I think Whataburger absolutely nails it.
