Gorga, the Space Monster

A scholastic book fair wasn't complete without at least one 'Choose Your Own Adventure' book to take home. Me & Gorga? Yeah, we've got history.

RIP Dad

Hey everyone....My father passed away last week after a long illness and will be buried next week. I know it'll take me a long time to get over his loss but I take comfort in knowing that he (unsurprisingly) fought tooth and nail until he couldn't fight any longer.

I was unsure about whether or not to post this. In a way, I felt like it may cheapen his memory by eulogizing him on Reddit. But then I thought if I were going to do it anywhere, it could only be this sub. Because, for better or worse, he was a Marine to the bitter end.

He wasn't a perfect man, and he had his struggles after returning from Vietnam. But he was a good man with a good heart, a huge laugh, and a beautiful soul. And he loved his family more than anything. Life wasn't always easy, but he lived a good life, and for his sake, I want you all to know he existed. He never glamorized his service, but he was *always* proud of it, proud of the brothers with whom he fought alongside, and forever mournful of those who never made it home.

But now Dad, it's time for you to be at peace. We'll be ok, I promise. Rest well, Pop. I'll miss you. I love you.
