Royal Enfields Make the Best Looking Sidecar Rigs

I was touching on this in another thread, but Royal Enfield sidecar rigs are absolute works of art. I'm really surprised I've never seen one in India. Personally, when I visit I'd much rather ride in one of these than an auto.

Full disclosure, the photos are not mine. They are from a US based manufacturer of sidecars called cyclecar.

RE engineers (I know you're in here). Yall should design a 2 wheel drive and linked brake mechanism for a bullet sidecar to sell as an auto.

Chill with the delivery posts

I get it. You want your bike ASAP and don't want to wait, but here's the thing: this is a fan sub and as far as I know isn't even monitored by Royal Enfield, so you're not going to get your bike any faster by posting complaints here. You order a vehicle and you have to wait, that's just how buying new vehicles works in India.

Wait times for all Royal Enfields are long. Guess what, they're building two shiny new factories to try to build more bikes faster, but building new factories takes time. Hopefully they're completed soon and everyone gets their shiny new bikes faster.

Moving forward, posts about delivery delays and timings will be removed.

Is there a way to report ban evasion accounts from mod mail directly

I have recently permanently banned a problem user from both of the subs I moderate (the user was active on both subs) for creating multiple threads intended to harass and belittle other community members. He had received a warning for this behavior in the mod mail, and a temporary ban before escalating to a permanent ban. I've been receiving mod mail messages from people claiming to be his "friends" (one of whom later admitted to being an alt) asking for him to be unbanned. Given that he always goes right back to his inappropriate behavior shortly after being unbanned I have no intention of unbanning him this time around.

Is there an easy way to report these ban evasion accounts to reddit Admins from the mod mail box? I usually use android app, but can easily access my laptop.

Cheap gloves have been rubbing off into my clutch. Got any suggestions to replacements?

It was a street and steel pair I picked up for cheap on Revzilla like last year, and the leather dye is already leeching out onto my clutch. It scrubs off pretty easily, but it's still pretty disappointing.

Anyone got recs for a good pair of gloves that will last more than a season? Street only rider, so I don't mind short cuff. I'd prefer something less than $100 but I'm willing to shell out more for something that will last several years since these budget gloves seem to last a year tops. I'd also strongly prefer full leather.

Megathread: Gear position sensors now available.

For anyone who doesn't know yet. Royal Enfield has been rolling out gear position sensor retrofits. Please contact a service center near you if you were given a unit without a gear sensor due to the rare metals shortage

Please use this megathread to discuss gear position indicator retrofits and celebrate if you got yours installed.

It's been getting a little spammy with half a dozen posts a day being about the gear sensor retrofits, so posts outside the megathread are being removed.

Megathread: 350 Gear sensors now available.

For those of you who don't know. Gear sensors are now available for 350cc models which were shipped without one due to the rare earths shortage. Contact your local service center to see about getting yours installed.

There have been multiple posts related to this on the sub already. Please use this megathread in order to discuss the gear sensors and celebrate if you got yours installed. Having 20 posts a day about how the gear sensor is available is redundant.

New Rule Announcement: Please keep discussions relevant Globally

This is a subreddit for Royal Enfield riders worldwide.

We see many posts that while previously considered on topic, would be a better fit for other subs, such as "What is a good mechanic in (insert city)"? Which would be a better fit for local city subreddits.

Similarly, we often get questions and discussions which are specific to India being that about half of our users are Indian. Questions related to motorcycle registrations, local laws, fines, and Indian government ethanol blending aren't relevant to Royal Enfield globally and often times don't really have anything to do with Royal Enfield specifically either. Questions like "Will I get a fine if I change the exhaust on my Continental GT?" depend on your local laws, not Royal Enfield. The answer would be the same if you replaced GT with TVS Apache. These questions and discussions belong on r/indianbikes

PSA: Stop Pressure Washing Your Bikes.

Seriously, knock it off. It says to not do that MULTIPLE times in my owners manual. "Use low pressure water jet to clean". It will cause water to get into your electronics and cause electrical issues, cause water to ingress into bearings and cause them to rust and go bad prematurely, it will get into calipers and damage your ABS system, get into get into your relays, cause them to fail then deplete your battery damaging it.

It seems like people in India are doing this, and I get it a little. It's monsoon season and you want your bike to be nice and clean. But it's almost every day lately I see someone say "I had someone pressure wash my bike and now my electronics are fucked! Please help". Put the pressure washer away. Use a gentle detergent and hose only as described in the manual under "washing procedure" and you'll get it spotless.

🚨The BRUTAL TRUTH! Has ROYAL ENFIELD Motorcycles become an OVERPRICED lifestyle Brand?

Wanted to share this and discuss. I agree with the premise. I think Royal Enfield is being pulled in two. The Indian buyer demands a more premium bike and the rest of the world is drawn to Royal Enfield due to their simplicity and competitive pricing.

Ernesto Guevara with his Norton 500

The post earlier today about motorcycles reminded me of this cool story I heard about an Argentinian doctor who loved motorcycles and went on a motorcycle tour of South America with his best bud which went on to profoundly shape his views on life and politics. There was a memoir released called "The Motorcycle Diaries" which you can read. If you're illiterate like me they also made it into a movie.

Being that we're all center right conservatives I thought you guys might want to check it out. The guy's name was Ernesto Guevara.

PSA: Waxing the tank is totally with it.

A little wax on the tank takes 5 minutes tops and can buff out little scratches in the clear coat from dirt/dust. My tank is looking factory new. No ppf required.

Announcement regarding AI

AI generated/edited content is not explicitly banned on r/royalenfield. There are legitimate uses for AI on a motorcycle sub. For example, if someone posts a picture saying, "I'm thinking of installing one of these two accessories on my bike. Here are ai edited images for comparison. How do you think it looks?". It's also not realistic to expect to identify AI generated content every time.

However AI content should follow all reddit and sub rules. Especially regarding spam. If you see someone posting AI slop as spam to karma farm or misinform report it as spam or misinformation and I'll look into it.

In short, you can have a little AI as a treat, but don't post slop.

Hello, I was trying to set up automations to warn posters/auto report of rules violations. The automations seem to be listed, but not working at this time. Automod doesn't seem to be listed as sub mod either. Reddit usually has great documentation, is there a good step by step guide I'm missing somewhere?
