testing out DDR5 8000, anything to improve upon?

testing out DDR5 8000, anything to improve upon?

Passed 30 mins of vt3 ycruncher with 18.5gb dataset iterations consistent 1.21 * 10^10. Going to run a full 4hrs of ryzen3d and later 4hrs ycruncher all tests... afterwards OCCT+Karhu. If those all pass, what should i look into improving upon?

also to note, vSOC is currently set to 1.15v, this is an old screenshot

6200mhz cl26 stable, worth touching anything else other than lowering vsoc/vdds?

Sorry for the spam of posts from me recently, just been having a blast now that I know i can run 6200mhz 1:1 and not fail tests.

If anything, I'll try upping trefi back to 65k, i think 403 trfc is the floor for my 6200mhz and having trfc 120ns caused me errors yesterday. I could also maybe try getting both SCL's down to 5/5 or 4/4, iffy about touching tFAW.. maybe tRTP 12 and 14/2 tRDWR/tWRRD.

Memory latency in aida64 with latency killer is 63ns, 66-67ns with it disabled, actually have no performance dedregation in my CS2 benchmarks with it enabled, so why not just keep it enabled right? I know its not the most reliable bench, but with my fps average over 520+ in 4k I'm pretty happy as is.

Trying out 6200mhz on my 6000mhz cl26 kit, any suggestions for TM5 errors?

Haven't touched fclk yet to isolate if 6200mhz will pass or not, and clearly not yet. Ram temps peaked 48.2c during the ycruncher+tm5 run

Think ill try 50,000 trefi and trfc (ns) of 130 instead of 120

Finally finished my tuned 6000mhz cl26 profile

Probably a few things I could tweak, I tried lowering trfc ns to 116ns, but that caused hella issues, 120ns seems to be the floor. Thinking I could maybe try tRP-tRAS-tRC 30-34-64, and if that works I could attempt tRRDL-tFAW-tWTRL 6-24-12.. but I think 24 tFAW will cause me issues. Maybe could set the tWRWRSC/tWRWRSD from 15-15 to 8-8 to match the tRDRDSD/tRDRDDD 8-8, unsure if that's needed or not since I'm using single rank sticks.

Even with latency killer, the lowest score I can hit for aida64 test was 61ns, doubt I could push sub 60ns without increasing FCLK, 2100 seems to be a hard limit with my CPU. Same goes for vSOC, 1.20v is a hard limit, setting it lower to 1.15v caused ycruncher to error out. All my voltages are on stock, and I'm not going to change that. (VDDP manually set to 1.10v to help training/stability)

Going above 6000mhz speeds also does not work, rather not spend another month retuning every timing to make 6200/6400 work.. and since I find touching voltages causes issues there's no point even attempting that. Quite happy with where I landed with these current timings

6000mhz cl26 kit tuned, any further recommendations?

Testing with GDM disabled now, latency killer is on for this picture but I'll likely disable it on my next reboot.

My vt3 ycruncher iteration speeds dropped about 0.2-0.3 (9.59 * 10^09 average down from 9.81 * 10^09 average) I'm attributing to the drop in bandwidth from latency killer, with it off I land around 66-68ns in Aida64 and slightly faster ycruncher iteration speeds.

With GDM enabled I passed 10hrs of TM5 ryzen3d, currently testing with GDM disabled and it's not erroring out in tests, so it's likely stable at my current timings.

For 6000mhz, it seems to be the max speed my CPU will accept, unsure of how to stablize 6200-6400mhz as it always caused errors or hard PC crashes even when upping vSOC to 1.3v and VDD up to 1.60v. The temps with these timings+voltages I have currently peak around 45-47c.

As for FCLK, 2100 seems pretty solid so far, it's never caused me issues with errors or bandwidth dropping, I think 2133 works as well, but definitely not 2200 which caused stuttering and errors. I haven't tested it thoroughly but to get 2200 stable seems like it would need a ton of votlage tuning... Currently 2100 fclk with these tight timings hasn't required any votlage changing of any kind, everything is auto. Which imo is probably better anyways. I was able to lower vsoc to 1.15v in the past, but unsure if it would still be stable since I've tightened so many other timings since then, I see no issue with keeping it at 1.20v stock.

edit: 18gb vt3 ycruncher, iteration speeds extrememly tight and consistent, still using stock voltages across the board, lowering vsoc causes errors so im not changing it

Any suggestions? DDR5 6000mhz cl26

GSKILL F5-6000J2636H16GX2-TR5NS

what would you suggest I improve on? I know tRC could probably go lower maybe 112(tRP+tRAS)? Might be able to lower both SCL's to 5.. or lower tFAW to 28, not sure where to go next.

I know my cpu can handle 2133mhz FCLK, just don't have it set right now, should pass tm5 with ease as it has before, haven't tried upping to 2200 as I had errors in ycruncher with that previously, but I haven't touched any voltages for stabilizing FCLK, not sure which to set and how high/low.

Tried 6200mhz c26 w/2133 FCLK 1:1 and passes yt3 ycruncher with easy but errors out 3-20 mins into tm5 ryzen3d, even tried upping VDD+VDDQ to 1.55v each and that didn't stop the errors, not sure what I need to do to push past 6000mhz.

New DDR5 gskills came in! 6000mhz cl26 1.45v

Old teamgroup kit(FLBD532G6000HC30DC01) was defective, going to RMA and sell them to cover some of cost buying these gskills.

Got the 6000mhz cl26 1.45v kit (F5-6000J2636H16GX2-TR5NS)

Should be very fun tuning these!

u/Dirtcompactor — 15 days ago

Thinking i could probably push tRFC even lower, maybe 384 is the next step, alongside 48 tWR, what about everything else though? 16 tRCDWR maybe?

EXPO1 6000mhz profile doesn't work on one stick because its defective

u/Dirtcompactor — 17 days ago

My teamgroup 32gb ddr5 6000mhz cl30 kit is defective, one stick cant run 6000mhz without errors in TM5/memtest86. If i get these gskills ill RMA my teamgroup and sell it to offset the cost of the gskill

canada computers had 3 in stock, placed and order and almost immediately got an email saying my order is now back-order, think its worth the wait? feel like it could take months

May have remembered my post here from two days ago, since then I've downgraded and then upgraded bios A82-->A81-->A82 (with multiple CMOS clears) to ensure a clean bios environment, reinstalled windows 25H2, uninstalled/reinstall x870 chipset drivers, now I'm starting ryzen3d tests for both stock EXPO1 and EXPO2.

Surprisingly, after the most clean environment my PC has seen in weeks, with nothing else changed in bios and only setting EXPO1, constant test 2 errors either within 2 minutes or 23 minutes.

Then I tried ryzen3d using EXPO2 which is 5600mhz 2000fclk, and it passed a full 3hrs of ryzen3d without error.

I've since upped vsoc from stock 1.20v to 1.25v to try and see if that'll help EXPO1 pass ryzen3d, but still more test 2 errors... is my CPU failing to cleanly run 6000mhz 2000fclk stock timings 1:1?

Not sure what to do next, I'll clear CMOS and attempt raising vsoc to 1.30v and see if that finally helps EXPO1 pass ryzen3d.. IDK.

EDIT1: 1.30v vsoc EXPO1, ryzen3d test 2 error within 3 minutes. Next up 1.4v VDD (VDDQ+VDDIO stock for now) & 1.25v vsoc

EDIT2: 1.25v vsoc EXPO1 VDD 1.4v, test 2 error in 6 minutes. Clearing CMOS and trying 1.25v vsoc and 1.4v VDD/VDDQ stock VDDIO

EDIT3: 1.25v vsoc EXPO1 VDD/VDDQ 1.4V failed test 1 error(that's new), clearing CMOS and trying 1.25v vsoc and 1.4v VDD/VDDQ/VDDIO with VPP 1.815v (EXPO2 used 1.815v VPP whereas EXPO1 used 1.86v VPP at stock)

EDIT4: 1.25v vsoc, 1.4v VDD VDDQ VDDIO, 1.8150v VPP.... Lasted 47 MINUTES, furthest so far. Another test 2 error

EDIT5: back to vsoc on AUTO, lands around 1.20v-1.205v. Keeping 1.4v VDDs and 1.8150v VPP

EDIT6: 1.20v vsoc, 1.4v VDDs, 1.815v VPP error in test 2 at 7 minutes. Is my ram fried? Does my 9800x3d have terrible silicone quality? At this point, it's probably worthwhile to blow $2000 on a 9850x3d and a new cl28 6000mhz kit lmao cause this is RIDICULOUS. Maybe it's worthwhile to ignore ryzen3d and never use it, and just stick to anta777 Absolut/extreme?

My 9800x3d can't pass ryzen3d w/6000mhz on STOCK EXPO. CRAZY. defective CPU or ram, who the fuck knows. The only answer is to stick to EXPO2 and live with it, or better yet get rid of my ram and cpu and buy something better. Money fixes everything!!!!

u/Dirtcompactor — 22 days ago

Feel like im running in circles here... not sure how to fix this. VSOC floor is set to 1.15v, stock is 1.2v, setting it 1.20-1.25v doesn't help.. maybe i should set tRCDWR back to stock 36 instead of 16?

I tried upping fclk to 2067 with 6200mhz in 1:1 earlier today with 1.25v vsoc with everything else on stock timings, booted just fine, passed YT3 y-cruncher for 30 minutes but failed within 10 minutes in TM5.. so I'm likely giving up on raising mhz and fclk and sticking to 6000mhz @ 2000 fclk.

losing hair over this stuff lol

heres ram kit and stock EXPO timings/aida64 latency/bandwidth test: https://imgur.com/a/HWhVLwH

all the tests ive had pass absolut/extreme: https://imgur.com/a/4UGHIVy

EDIT: these timings/voltages have passed OCCT.. https://imgur.com/a/xlF6kXH Now i need to tweak to get this to pass ryzen3d now

EDIT2: set"tWTRS = 6, tWTRL = 24, tRDWR = 16" Got test 2 error in under 3 minutes. Guess I'm upping vdd/vddq/vddio next

EDIT3: set vdd/vddq to 1.4v keeping vddio at stock(1.33v), test 2 error in under 3 minutes.

EDIT4: vsoc back to auto (1.20v) test 2 error in under 10 seconds, next step im setting tRCDWR 16->36(auto), and if that doesnt work im setting tRFC 480-512

EDIT5: tRCDWR 16->36(auto), and tRFC 480->512 test 2 error under 10 seconds

EDIT6: VDD/VDDQ set to 1.43v (highest i can set it without enabling DRAM high voltage mode) I can see it peak up to 1.44-1.455v in hwinfo64, ryzen3d... test 2 error in under 10 seconds. VDDIO still at stock 1.35v

EDIT7: Edit: stock expo and everything else in bios @ stock, ryzen3d got test 2 error lmao. Might've cooked my ram or ryzen3d test is way too bitchy, feel like I should only use Absolut/extreme/usmus as those tests pass most the time

EDIT8: Haven't rebooted or anything, still running stock EXPO PBO auto, retesting ryzen3d and I'm currently 22 minutes in now I get another error.. test 1..

EDIT9: I think ryzen3d is too picky, I've been able to pass usmus/extreme/absolut in the past, so I'll stick to those TM5 configs going forward, as they actually work lol

Final edit: I'm giving up on tweaking ram, all it does is boost aida64 benchmarks and results in zero gaming performance often lowering it. Going back to my regular bios setup with latency killer enabled (it's actually better for gaming) PBO advanced with limits to motherboard, +200 core boost, -20 all core, 1x scalar, MCR enabled, iGPU disabled, stock EXPO. My gaming benchmarks have never been better, also even with all that crazy tweaks my Aida latency was at 70-72ns, and with the settings I just listed it sits at 74ns.. we have a winner!
