Anybody use their Tacomas as work trucks? Looking for ideas for tool storage on a budget.

Just spent the last three hours organizing the tools I need to keep in my truck into a small toolbox I had laying around and bam not a huge fan of this 75lb projectile behind my seat. Trucks a lease so I can’t do anything permanent to it but still need a way to store my tools in a way that’s not stupid expensive and secure. I wouldn’t be opposed to a bed box if there’s any that don’t require drilling into the bed.

Love Hate relationship with this place. (Rant)

TLDR: Shareholder value, drama between staff, and demand to meet metrics are killing this company at the store level and the customers are seeing it.

If it weren’t for drama and metrics, Home Depot wouldn’t be so bad. Been here 5 years, experienced burn out like crazy the first two. Witnessed extreme turnover of all the associates around me. Sad because half were genuinely fantastic workers and got themselves fired for stupid reasons. There’s maybe five or six people at my store that have been working the same amount of time or longer than I have.

I’m at a point where I’m stuck in the job I have and being able to jump into the trade I’m in school for. On one hand the trade pays $25/hr entry as a licensed apprentice like myself $30/hr Union. On the other hand it can’t provide as stable employment as HD and no one is looking for a part time apprentice that hasn’t finished school yet.

I’m stuck at HD teaching people above me how to better do their job just for them to ignore me and flop on their faces. It’s boring/sad to see it happen time and time again.

Everyone is rushing to please the next person up and no one is stopping to actually look at what’s happening in front of them. The people above store level don’t even realize what a bad experience shortening staff hours and putting pressure on management to meet metrics is causing for customers and associates alike. I’ve had two major Pro customers come in and complain about how this company has changed.

One guy said in the past two years he’s sourced from us not a single one of the orders he’s placed through us for the projects he manages has gone without an issue of some form. Whether it be damaged/missing materials or poor customer service nothing ever goes smoothly for him. He’s a sizable Pro customer who I’ve dealt with repeatedly since I started and every time he’s very understanding of the challenges we deal with. But this time when I talked to him he said he was just tired of dealing with Home Depot in general and is now starting to shift his business to supply houses and lumber yards directly.

My opinion is that this company is being so micromanaged that it’s shooting itself in the foot.

Thanks for reading my rant. My TED talk if you will.

Looked over and immediately went, “Huh…”

1600 miles off the lot and it’s the third trim piece that’s randomly fallen off while driving.

Anyone know the offset on the stock SR5 wheels?

Trying to plan out a wheel and tire setup but can’t find any info on the factory offset. Any help would be great.

Didn’t think this would be an issue this soon lol. Looks like they put some adhesive up towards the front to prevent the cap from coming up but the adhesive has failed already. Do I just try to replace the adhesive? Or take it to the dealer since I’ve had it less than a month?
