I got my results back.

Unfortunately, I missed CLB 7 in listening again, so I’ll have to reappear for the test. That part definitely hurts because I know how close I was.

But at the same time, looking back at where I started honestly feels unreal.

My first TEF attempt was mostly CLB 4–5. A few months later, after a lot of stress, self-doubt, breaks, and studying again, I managed to reach B2 in all sections on TCF:

- Listening: B2/CLB6

- Reading: B2/CLB7

- Speaking: B2/CLB7

- Writing: B2/CLB8

Considering I started learning French less than a year ago, I’m trying to remind myself that this is still a huge achievement.

I still have work to do, especially for listening, but this result gave me confidence that the progress is real.

Thank you to everyone who replied to my previous post and encouraged me. Seriously helped more than you think 🙏

Never imagined that I would do this to my Camry

Probably the least practical way to own a hybrid Camry, but I regret nothing.

Curious what the stance community thinks about this setup?

Static and daily driven!

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share my journey and get some honest feedback/advice.

I started learning French around June 2025, but became serious about it around September . I gave my first TEF attempt on Nov 25 and got the scores (screenshot 1).

I attempted again on Dec 18 because my work permit was expiring soon, but unfortunately didn’t improve much (screenshot 2).

Speaking Task 2 (convincing a friend) was especially difficult for me.

After that, I went back to my home country for about 2 months and didn’t study at all.

I came back to Canada in early March and since then I’ve been studying consistently again. I’ve also applied for my work permit extension. Now I have my TCF Canada exam on May 9.

The good part is: I’ve improved A LOT compared to before. I feel way more comfortable speaking, understanding, and structuring my ideas.

The bad part: as the exam gets closer, my anxiety is getting really intense. I’m overthinking, losing focus some days, and constantly worried about failing again.

One change this time is I’m taking TCF instead of TEF. I feel a bit more confident with the TCF speaking format, especially Task 3 (monologue), compared to TEF Task 2.

At this point, I’d really appreciate:

Any last-week strategies

How to control anxiety before the exam

Tips specifically for TCF speaking (especially keeping structure under pressure)

Thanks a lot for reading 🙏
