So I’ve been wondering about this for awhile. I have a cat that is indoor and outdoor and she enjoys going for daily walks with us. She’s almost 2 years old, her mother got pregnant and we didn’t know until her appointment to be spayed so we kept the kittens and got her fixed after the litter was born and she had healed. She disappeared shortly after, we looked for her but she was gone.
A few weeks ago on our walk I saw her and my cat was very interested in her. It appears that a neighbor several blocks down took her in and we had no idea, I have mixed feelings about this but it is what it is. When the two come into contact they like to stop and sit near each other. The Mama always follows us for a bit but it’s obvious these two cats (mother and daughter) vibe when they get close but it’s been over a year since Mama went missing.
Do they know that they are mother and daughter or part of the same family or are they both just friendly? We run into other cats frequently and they mostly ignore or run away from my cat so the interaction I see with Mama is not normal.
