I'm researching this problem to build

Hi! I'm a newcomer myself (came from India,

now in Kitchener-Waterloo) and I'm doing

research on rental safety for newcomers.

I personally witnessed friends lose

thousands to fake listings on Kijiji

when they first arrived — paying first

and last month's rent to scammers who

just disappeared.

I'm designing a solution and want to

understand if this happened to others.
