Someone stopped me

While I was walking today I thought I saw a car creeping on me so I made a point to slow down and pretend to read a poster/signage.. When I turned back around I was surprised that the car was still just sitting there at the crosswalk. The man inside of the car rolled down the window and said, “I just love your hair. I had to stop and tell you.”

🥰🥰🥰 what I thought was a creeper moment ended up being a really nice one. So much so that I decided to come home and take a picture to see what the fuss was all about.

I definitely didn’t walk out of the house thinking that I was having a great hair day but it felt so nice to be reminded that the time & effort that I put into doing/maintaining my curls* *is being appreciated by someone other than me 😂.

How many times has a Villa boy WON with a Casa Girl?

Only Caleb + Molly from Love Island UK comes to mind for me..

Wondering because of Zach’s mention of a “gameplan”?

Do the boys of the Love Island USA Season 8 really believe that they could see a finale after ditching their couple?

The Doux Honey Dip Cream Gel

The Doux Honey Dip Honey Butter Gel

Wow, I am so impressed with this product… It took my 6 product routine down to just 3 products (shampoo, leave in, and the doux honey dip)

(The white in my hair is just my hair lol… Not product that has not soaked in)

I did rinse the leave-in out because the doux products want to just be used on their own for some reason… When I do my touch up in a few days, I think I will include my curl enhancing cream from pardonmyfro. While I am fine with the hold that this product offers, I think that adding one extra product might enhance the hold/my curls in some way.

The hold that it offers is soft, but the shine is really something else… No crunchiness either.

Usually my entire routine takes me about an hour and a half, and this only took me about 45 minutes to an hour (including diffusing).

I have been pretty happy with my hair but this product is a game changer because it has saved me sooo much time, and I think it will be saving me a bunch of money in the long run.

Has anyone else had good results with this product? And if so, do you use it in combination with any other product?

Pickup/gift Dumont Celerio Elysium EDP + Burberry London EDT

Landed on Dumont Celerio Elysium as a new summer scent (and potential signature scent). It took forever to be shipped to me but wowwww.

Clone Of MontaBaco Ormonde Jayne

When I got back from the airport last night I sprayed it on my night shirt and slept in it. Throughout the night I was pleasantly surprised by the scent. It’s quite mature smelling but has an addictive sweetness somewhere underneath. 12 hours later I am smelling the shirt I slept in and it’s still pretty fragrant.

The opening is very juicy + bright. I sprayed it on my arm just now and got wafts of peppercorn + pine. This has a nice spice to it. It’s ozonic for sure, very fresh in spite of the earthiness that’s introduced early and settles in a lot more later.

I would describe the “juicy” smell as cranberries plucked from the branch. The description does say “juniper berries”…
but I don’t know what those smell like. I am also getting some sort of citrus? Maybe it’s grapefruit? The scent overall is mature but the brightness of it makes it a touch playful.

As the scent develops i am reminded of Hojicha tea specifically. There is a nuttiness + smokiness to this Fragrance that goes sooo well with the teanote. Toasty, sweet, earthy but BRIGHT.

I am over the moon about this purchase. I wore it for an errand today and the smell wafting off of my tracksuit now 4 hours later is just delicious 🤤.

9/10 So far. Can’t wait to see how this develops

Burberry London EDT

My vocal coach gave me this one for a job well done I guess?

Luckily I live in The Bay, so we have plenty of windy + chilly days to look forward to this spring/summer. This scent will be perfect come Fall/Winter also. It is spicyyyyy.

I sprayed this before heading to the airport last and the scent has continued to stay on my jacket an entire week later. What they say is true. It smells like Christmas.

Pine needle, cinnamon, gingerbread… Patchouli? Firewood! Potpourri? This reminds me of the random potpourri bowls my Mom had around the house growing up with pinecones, cranberries, cinnamon sticks, etc etc.

Since it reminds me of childhood, this smell is quite grounding to me. Like if I were to cuddle up in a pile of very dry leaves while someone in the neighborhood has their fireplace going. And then someone was nice enough to bring a hot toddy or (spiced orange tea to be age appropriate) to my lil leaf palace.

There are hints of orange + whiskey + spiced apple to me

This was a really beautiful surprise. I wasn’t expecting to receive it but I like it A LOT and can’t wait to wear it when it’s a bit chillier outside.

8/10

Hair type and product help!

I think I am 4a or 4b? My crown is a bit sun damaged and grey which I think changes the texture a bit?

New wash shampoo
Pardon My Fro Detangling conditioner (I rinse this out)
Camille Rose leave in honey condition (I leave this in)
Pardon my fro curl enhancing cream
Pardon my fro mousse
Carol’s Daughter Hair Mimosa

I want my curls to be a bit juicier.. This pic is from wash day after I diffused, and it usually takes a few days for me to be happy with the curls.

For the first few days they feel a bit too light/boneless for my liking, so I am looking into a heavier gel to replace the mousse and potentially the oil I use (hair mimosa).

Hair mimosa replacement: Pardon My Fro Moisture milk

Mousse replacement: The doux honey butter gel

Any thoughts or suggestions?
