If I have a comment that's controversial, Reddit might show 5 upvotes or it might show 5 downvotes. But I might have 100 upvotes and 105 downvotes. My comment shows "-5" which predisposes people to disagree and downvote it more, even though earlier it was showing a lot of positive votes which predisposed people to upvote.

The current system reinforces a hive mind echo chamber mentality.
