The Kevin Hart Roast felt way too scripted and bloated compared to Tom Brady's. What happened?
I was really looking forward to the Kevin Hart Roast, but the 3-hour runtime felt incredibly bloated. While the first hour had some great hits, it quickly devolved into a mess.
The biggest issue for me was how obvious it was that everything was heavily scripted. Even Kevin Hart's final comeback jokes showed he already knew Katt Williams was going to be there as a "surprise" guest.
Also, the tension between Shane Gillis and Chelsea Handler trading personal jabs about Epstein and old tweets felt less like a fun comedy roast and more like an uncomfortable backstage fight.
Tom Brady's roast worked because everyone actually wanted to be there and the energy felt organic. Here, half the comedians kept pointing out that they didn't write their own jokes or were just there for the Netflix paycheck.
Am I the only one who thinks Netflix needs to stop airing these things fully live if they can't manage the pacing? What did you guys think?
