Rob Doo was actually trying to be a reporter at one point!
So I've been revisiting KF's backlog for the past year or so, and in episode 215, there is evidence of Rob . . . Deux? Dois? I don't know how to spell it, and frankly I don't respect the man enough to care, so I'm just gonna go with Doo . . . of Rob Doo trying to act with journalistic integrity.
To summarize, he came back from an interview on the government's tracking of domestic terrorism, and told Alex of what he had heard and written, then refrained from speculating or making stuff up. Alex became very animated, insisting that "they didn't need to get neurotic about it," and that Rob should share all he had to say.
Needless to say, it was fascinating to see someone we have long known as an InfoGoon actually trying to report something responsibly, and then tragically hilarious to see him get dragged down into the tabloid muck by his employer. Might he have had a legitimate career in journalism had he taken a job from a non-sociopath? We may never know.
This pivotal moment of Rob Doo's was around the 1hr 98m mark for anyone curious about it, but wanting to skip the rampant misogyny that occupied the rest of the episode.
