Disk Drill 6.3 is out. Here's what's new.

Hey folks! Disk Drill 6.3 is now available for Windows and macOS.

Below you'll find a quick rundown of the changes we think most people will care about, without making you dig through the changelog.

The biggest addition in this release is the ability to recover files from lost BitLocker partitions. If a BitLocker-encrypted partition disappears because the partition table gets damaged, Disk Drill can now detect it and bring what's recoverable back.

You'll still need your BitLocker password or recovery key afterwards to decrypt your data. Missing encrypted partitions have been one of those frustrating edge cases for a while, so we're happy to finally support them.

We also dedicate a lot of time to the Advanced Camera Recovery mode. Reconstruction became better for Insta360 footage, detection has improved for Ricoh and Uniden cameras, and support has been added for Leica RAW (.rwl) and .m4a audio files.

You can also choose whether to skip corrupted files during long ACR scans or wait for a while and try to reconstruct them if possible.

And in case recovered clip turns out to be too damaged to play, Disk Drill will now point you to Online Video Repair to attempt the restoration of seemingly unrecoverable files.

Under the hood, scans got more dependable on the tricky stuff: better handling of ReFS (including sparse files) and encrypted APFS partitions, faster DeepFAT32 scanning, and a stack of format and stability fixes.

Recovered files that were originally encrypted are now grouped together in the scan results, making them much easier to find after detection.

Windows users get a few quality-of-life improvements as well. You can finally select multiple detected files at once, accompanied with better thumbnail generation for preview, and SMART information is displayed more clearly for supported drives.

We also added support for more RAW and media formats, improved iOS recovery on macOS, fixed several ARM-specific issues, and cleaned up plenty of smaller bugs. If you're the sort of person who is into reading release notes, the full list is on our website: https://www.cleverfiles.com/help/news/
