Im blessed to be receiving job offers but theyre not from my hometown. Ive always said I wamted to move away in order to grow my wings so Im excited and yet so scared. I can always move back home (thank god) but Im...scared yet excited. With these offers I can work towards my goals and become a new person socially....idk idk idk

Help me make a decision please and thank you

About 3 weeks ago I was laid off from BDO after 4 only months ( Jan to Apr) due to restructuring. Ive been applying/ interviewing for jobs and have come upon 2 offers.

Offer 1: Tax associate - small CPA firm in SATX - 200 employess max - starting pay is $65k with benefits. Small emough for me to build and get more personal training and hands on work which is really appealing to me (along with a slightly better WLB)

Offer 2: Tax assocate at Baktertilly - Dallas,TX - starting pay at $68K. Bigger and top 10 which is great for my resume to stay in top 10 but i am craving a more hands on approach but i do want a strong resume for the future.

Which one should I pick? I definitely want to stay in tax and was wondering which would give me better exit opps? My gial is ti get my CPA and make senior within a year or two.

Hello

I have about a year of public accounting experience in tax. Im compentent and fun to work with. Im looking for tax associate or tax staff opportunities around Houston, Dallas and Austin. I can provide my resume and references upon request.

My basic skills:

- really good at excel

- somewhat pretty good at ASC740/provisions (Ive worked on 4 so far)

- I can pull up QBO/TB, makes AJEs/M-1Adjs, add/dispose fixed assets in BNA/Gosystem RS/Asset Keeper and then use that information to draft 1120/1120s/1065

- state appointment/income, along with tax research and other tax associate/staff duties that are required
