Which gender cat is more affectionate?

I don't know whether this is valid question or not. Wanted to know if there is anything like male cat is more affectionate or female ? I've seen some videos on social media. I've had 3 female kitties till now. Wanted to know out of curiosity

My cat doesn't like me much

Need advice from cat parents 🐾🥹

My previous indie cat was extremely affectionate ❤️ She always slept touching me lap, chest, neck, legs and I got very used to that bond. She sadly passed away 🌈💔

Now I have a Persian kitten 🐱✨ She’s healthy, playful, and stays near me all the time next to my bed, near my keyboard, by the window but doesn’t like sleeping on me 🥲 If I put her on my lap and pet her, she stays for a few seconds then jumps away like a rabbit 😆

She does come for pets when she wakes up, rubs against my legs, asks for head scratches 🥹 but only for 2–5 mins, then she’s off again 😂 She also barely makes biscuits 🥲. I do give her treats and all and I do play with her. It has been few months but she's like this only always

I know every cat has a different personality, but I really miss that cuddly affection from my previous cat 💕 Is this just personality/breed difference, or is there anything I can do to help her become more cuddly over time? 🥹

Kitten fight travell advice

I’d like advice from people who have travelled with cats.

I have an indoor kitten who will be around 7 months old by the time of travel, fully vaccinated, and this would be a domestic trip (around a 2.5-hour flight). She has never really gone out except for vet visits/checkups, and since I live alone and don’t have many visitors, she has barely interacted with people other than me.

My parents live in another state and are very excited to meet her, and I’m planning to stay there for around 1–2 weeks. But I’m confused whether taking her on a flight would be too stressful for her, considering airport waiting time, early check-in, travel process, unfamiliar people, noise, and a completely new environment.

For cats like this (indoor, not socialized much, first-time travel), do they generally adjust okay for a short domestic flight and temporary stay, or would it be kinder/less stressful to leave her with a trusted friend and travel alone instead? Would really appreciate experiences from people who’ve done this.

Want to adopt friend for my cat

Hi everyone, I have a 5-month-old female cat who is fully vaccinated. I’m a working professional with a hybrid schedule, so I go to office at least 2 days a week. Usually I arrange for someone to check on her, but sometimes she may be alone. She’s very energetic, especially at night, wants to play a lot, and my sleep is getting disturbed since I’m often too tired after work.

I’m thinking of getting her a companion. Earlier, I had a rabbit, and my cat never hurt or bothered the rabbit, which is why I feel she may adjust well with other animals. My long-term plan is to eventually have 2 cats and 2 dogs, so I’m leaning toward getting a puppy now since both would be young and could grow up together, bond early, and adjust naturally. My concern is that if I get another cat now and introduce a dog later when the cats are adults, adjusting to a completely different species may be harder.

Of course, for the first 1–2 months, I’ll supervise closely and won’t leave them alone together. For people with experience, does this sound like a good idea, or would getting another cat still be the better option for my kitten?
