ATC identifying aircraft
I was talking to KBOS approach yesterday for flight following and had to reinstate several times that I was a Cessna, despite the fact they kept calling me a Malibu. Considering the speed range between the two (a Cessna 150 cruising at barely 100 mph with a Piper Malibu being a high-performing turboprop), it’s pretty significant
I was kind of confused on how they could get the two confused and just passed it off as a workload thing cause they were busy but it just left me with questions honestly.
From my minimal understanding as a PPL student, they can see locations of aircraft and their tail number or callsign if they have one, and from my understanding, also speed, as people ask for speed checks and get told to reduce their speed. Is aircraft type not included with that?
