I am in the middle of what seems to be a never ending divorce. I just paid off a bunch of debt, but now I have a car payment and I still have an $8,000 personal loan (which was used to pay my shifty lawyer). Found a new lawyer, but he needs $$. I have little to no savings, and asking a family member for help is out of the question. My credit is just starting to improve,too. What is the best way to finance money for a divorce lawyer?

Who here has experienced having the court system as another way to abuse you? Whst do you do? While I am officially divorced, we still share a 16.5 yr old kid. Recently, the information I provided during said kid's therapy intake was reported to DCFS. I have told the same story to every therapist, this one reported it. This turned into emergency custody, 2 court dates where I was my own lawyer (who failed spectularly), and now he is asking the court to issue sanctions against me and pay for the entire divorce due to damaging his relationship with his daughter. I don't think this man will be happy until I am penniless and living on the street.

I represented myself today in court to defend an ex parte agreement where I have custody of my daughter. He is being investigated by DCFS. Everything stems from the abuse my child experienced from her dad. I froze in court today and could not connect those dots. How do you call out your and your kid's abuser? Do you just say 'My kid was sexually abused by her dad.' Do I need proof?
