From a VISION to REALITY

I spent hours and long conversation designing a boot that spoke to a multitude of facets. Researching a leathers that was so far out of the box but still robust for working. I asked about getting this leather and Shuyler didn’t steer away; he gladly accepted and made it a reality. I can’t thank him and his staff enough for getting this leather at my request.

The design I was searching for was something elegant, yet I felt would still be great for work. I went with the 1925 last as I felt this was the perfect choice.

After speaking with the Boss himself he suggested doing an internal heel counter to continue with the elegance and providing a clean look. With that I had to go with a Half sole option to truly emphasize this choice.

I went with a 7” height as I felt it gives me more surface area to truly show its raw beauty. I also felt it was the perfect hybrid height between a true dress boot and work boot.

Natural Waxed Flesh

I’ve been wearing this pair for almost 5 months. I’ve rotated a few others in throughout the summer months.

After about a few weeks I started to wear unwashed raw denim jeans to see is I could get some crocking from the indigo. In direct sunlight you can see the blue hue shine through, in most of the burnished areas.

This pair has really become the definition of quick on and off for household chores. I can’t really speak on how well the leather would hold up in harsh working conditions, since I haven’t been able to work this summer.

Just as I imagined this leather is stiff right out of the box, but with wear this W&C leather softens up and molds to your foot like a layer of skin. With what amount of water I’ve been around this leather has a very good water resistance factor.

Candy acorn

I showed my acorn cypress some loving. Gave em a nice cleaning and rubbed some Smiths into them as they were slightly dry from 7 months of wear.

The first set of pics bounces between before and after pics of the cleaning. I also added the NBD pics to see a comparison of months of wear.

Belt Choices

My Nicks Belt collection is coming along nicely.

From left to right

W&C Natural Double Stuffed sz 38
W&C Natural Veg Tan Blackout sz 36
Seidel 1964 Brown sz 38
W&C Buck Brown Appaloosa Gunslinger sz 38

My first belt was the 64 Brown, I wore that for a little over a year before I got the Gunslinger. I then rotated the gunslinger into my weekend routine. I the got the Blackout belt for this years dome and wore it for the entirety of the dome. I finally found myself getting Nat DS to help with the website launch.

Now I find myself struggling to pick a belt. I picked up this beautiful buckle to which I added to the gunslinger as it felt right. Come July 4th I’m not sure I’ll be able to not only wanting to wear the gunslinger exclusively.
