Lighting Question on horror short film (self post)

Hey everyone! I’ve been making a live action film based on the series “Berserk” for the last year. I’ve written, directed, shot, and edited the whole thing myself and am looking for advice on color grading/mood.

It’s a dark fantasy/ physiological horror piece, and I tried to reflect that in how I lit the scenes. They were all shot outside with a Sony FX-30 + TAMRON 17-70MM lens, and lit with a GODOX SL60II BI light. I actually do quite like the raw look of the shots, but am curious on any mistakes I’ve made and how I could have lit/shot it better. For some shots, I feel like the lighting is a bit flat despite trying to angle the light in different directions. I also feel like although sometimes the natural background light contrasts well, it sometimes makes the image look a bit visually jarring (like in photo one, where the blue morning light kinda looks weird against the orange light on the actors face) Any thoughts as to how I can improve that for next time?

Berserk Live Action Trailer (not AI)

I’ve been working on a Berserk live action fan film for the past year. It’s entirety self funded and is completely nonprofit (the film will be releasing for free on YT in a few weeks).

As the name of it suggests, it takes place during the first year after the eclipse and follows Guts through his violent and traumatic hunt for an apostle. I’d love to hear what you all think! This was done purely for the love of Berserk
