My wife and I will be in Waukesha County next weekend (08/22-08/23). We are looking for affordable things to see/do. We enjoy cafes, picnics, book stores, and walking or driving to sightsee. Any recs??

My parents are under the belief that politics should not be talked about, especially if there are differing views. After the 2024 presidential election, my wife (28 cis woman) and I (28 FTM) began to thoughtfully end our interactions with trump supporters and those who actively vote against our livelihood; this included family members and friends.
My dad has stated that I cannot “tell people what to believe in” regarding politics and constantly disagrees that if someone voted for trump then they don’t support the LGBTQIA+ community. He believes that politics don’t say anything about a person’s character, values, or morals. I strongly disagree, stating that by voting for trump people are inherently voting against trans people and the overall queer population.
I’m at a loss on how to proceed. I don’t want to cut out my parents and brothers but also, they don’t understand the detrimental impact the current administration has on my day-to-day life; it is so frustrating and it makes me question their political views/beliefs.
Summary: My parents think I am overreacting when cutting trump/republican supporters out of mine and my wife’s life. We are a queer couple.
I am currently a pediatric outpatient SLP for a hospital organization. I finished grad school in 2022 and in that time, I’ve worked for 5 different companies (e.g., pediatric private practice; b-3; schools; virtual b-3; and now outpatient); I’m realizing I really enjoy pediatric outpatient care BUT I’m not sure I can keep doing this for the next 5-7 years. I work 4, 10hr shifts (Tues-Friday) and the days are so long.
I’m on a personal leave of absence right now and I cannot even think about going back to the clinic; my coworkers rock but the caseloads are high and I actually get annoyed when my patients show up to their appointments 😬
I’ve thought about a career transition before but decided to give outpatient a try. Has anybody had a similar experience?? Thanks!
I am receiving intensive outpatient treatment for my OCD. I’ve already used my 3 unscheduled PTO allowance for the next 90 days but the treatment is 3-6pm M-F and I work until 6:30pm. I reached out to my boss stating that I’ll need a temporary schedule change and he said that flexibility is limited due to staffing. I am reaching out to HR, but I’m worried that I’ll get fired or get a disciplinary action due to the late notice. Thoughts??
