What stat changes from issue options have baffled and/or annoyed you?
Title. As someone who is basically just a 7 year long issues player, ive seen a good amount on multiple of my nations.
Here are some of my grievances:
- Civil right and political freedom start to eat themselves after a point. If they get high enough certain options like holding open primary elections, allowing ghost riders, allowing hate speech, allowing abortion, and allowing religious separatism start to DECREASE freedoms rather than increase them. This is very annoying when trying to go for ideological radicality
- Not allowing a feudal lord removes your devolution policy. This result from a certain issue i forget the number of was truly insane to me. For some reason integrating a feudal holdout into your democratic society means that all other subdivisions in your nation no longer have authority when this is just not made clear at all in the issue.
- Cracking down on witch hunts increases corruption. Why??? What precedent is there for this? What could the rationality possibly be? We use legitimate state means to reduce extralegal violence (a type of violence which is treated as corrupt in NS).
- Improving your sewage system merely increases spending on administration and healthcare but no actual increase to health and environment, which all the other options in this issue affect
My suggestion for a change to WA classifications (as unlikely as it may be):
- Swapping the requirements for Benevolent Dictatorship and Libertarian Police State. Their descriptions honestly seem to fit better with the other’s stance on economic freedom and how WA classifications interpret economic freedom
- Renaming Corrupt Dictatorship to “Populist Dictatorship”. The current name seems very lackluster like every other dictatorship classification can be just as corrupt and this one specifically ive seen have low corruption a good number of times. It would be more appropriate for a nation to have this classification if it is ruled by a government that utilizes a lot of left-leaning populism to justify its low political freedom
- Giving Democratic Socialists’ description to Tyranny by Majority. The patriotism and moralism mentioned in the former is more in line with low civil rights classifications.
- Swap the descriptions of Left-leaning College State and Liberal Democratic Socialists. It seems more fitting that the one mentioning colleges should be the one with name referencing colleges. This may require a change in the description to be less about elections. (Also in my opinion the Liberal Democratic Socialists description sounds the most cringe)
- Swap the requirements for Left-leaning college state and Scandinavian Liberal Paradise. Seriously why is the one explicitly called left leaning actually further right from the one called Scandinavian liberal? Scandinavian countries are probably not socialist enough by NS standards to be in that zone of classification but a left-leaning college student archetype certainly is.
- Swap the names for Free Market Paradise and Corporate Bordello. The descriptions really seem to fit the other better as having a classification effectively labelling a nation as a brothel for corporations that sweep elections seems like something better for low civil rights. I understand this may also require Capitalist Paradise to be repositioned as it might feel off to have 2 paradise classifications this close to each other.
A list of every type of cause of death i know of.

Scurvy: My guess is either poor health (but that seems redundant to high obesity) or having pirates
@@ANIMAL@@ attack: My guess is high environment minus allowing for the eating of your national animal
What nations do you think would be ranked highest in more nebulous stats?
What I’m referring to are stats outside of those typically tracked in real life (industries, HDI, employment, economy, crime, etc)
What real life nations do you think would be ranked highest in:
- Culture
- Accessibility
- Rudeness
- Inclusiveness
- Nudity
- Food quality
Changed the flag of my nation, Aurorasen, to look less like Cape Verde
I might add an additional light red ring around the white circle to prevent a yellow-on-white conflict with the stars
