Use cheap copper tape for slugs to shield bass?

Hello everyone

My brother bought a pack of cheap copper tape in Lidl today. And then I thought, would it be possible and beneficial to use this to shield the cavity in my bass?

It's this tape:

The bass is an old Riverhead Unicorn Japanese headless bass. It has some noise when the strings aren't being grabbed.

I just recently picked up bass playing and I'm a beginner, so apologies in advance if this is a stupid question.
