What would you do?

I ordered from an Etsy seller and I’m honestly kinda frustrated and don’t know if I’m overreacting or not. The listing said the original estimate delivery window would be May 4–May 20, and I bought it expecting it would come before I leave out of town May 28 for a month and needed it before then. Before it shipped, I even messaged the seller explaining that and asking if it would still arrive in time.

They said it was shipping the next day, but after that, the estimated delivery suddenly changed to June 4, and then they ignored me. Now the tracking hasn’t really updated and it still looks like it’s stuck in the origin country (Ukraine).

I just feel kind of misled because I would’ve never ordered if I knew it would arrive that late, especially since I won’t even be home. I’m planning to open a case if it doesn’t get here 7 days after May 20, but I just wanted to see if other people think this is normal or if I’m justified in being annoyed.

Bring Back 2000s Customs!

Hi!! 🤍

I’m here to say that we should bring back 2000s customizers and customs from the 2000s. I think that style is honestly what inspired me to start customizing my own dolls in the first place.

Despite the doll and photos here not being fully authentic (she’s a hybrid doll, so the only authentic part is her body), I hardly see this style being done anymore, or at least much less than before. Sometimes I really wish more people would go back to customizing Blythes to look more like the older authentic versions again!!!!

And that’s not me saying I hate modern customs at all!! I also customize dolls with bigger lips, dramatic eyelashes, intricate carving, and all of that. I genuinely think the evolution of this hobby is beautiful, but sometimes I really miss the older 2000s-style customs.

That’s what my recent girl in the photos was heavily inspired by. I still don’t have a name for her, but I hope to see some of y’all’s Blythe customs (fake or real) with a similar style!

This is my Pixie Hallow OC Sylvi! She's a garden fairy and a total nerd; When she's not in nature, she'd rather be playing video games and watching anime! She is also 2000’s inspired. 🥰 Will forever yearn for more Tinker Bell movies!

Tangkou Dolls

Has anyone else heard of Tangkou dolls in this sub? 👀

I don’t think I’ve ever really seen anyone here talk about Blythe’s little “close relative,” Tangkou dolls, and I’m kind of surprised because they’re actually SO cute.

If you haven’t come across them before, Tangkou dolls are these big-eyed fashion dolls with 4 pairs of eyes that are really similar in vibe to Blythe. Most people say they’re a bit creepy or weird, and they definitely have some flaws but I personally love them so much.

They don’t seem as mainstream or hyped as Blythe, and they never really were, but that kind of makes them even more interesting to me. There’s way less noise around them, so when you do find one you like, it feels kind of special.

Anyway, just curious if anyone else here has a Tangkou doll or knows about them too!
