Promotion?

Is it appropriate to invite my therapist to my promotion ceremony? I wouldn’t make it awkward, but I figure it would be a nice gesture for the invite since she has seen me through it. I have never met her only seen her over zoom for about year.

Tips for beginner private lesson coach?

Been an assistant coach for Varsity since 2018 for an average program. Over the years, I have come to realize some of the forgotten beginner players get lost. Either coaches do not want to develop if they are unathletic or need major skill improvement or the parents can not afford private lessons. I have seen some $85-100 plus. Decided to get into private lessons at an affordable price for beginners who may not be looking to play at the collegiate level but just want to get better. I am totally new to private lessons, apart from obviously having a practice plan, is there anything else I should know or be aware of?

Time spent in gym

This may be a silly question but when you spend time at the gym for different amount of times...is that how long your set plan takes to complete and if you have more time on your hands, you just add more exercises or just do more reps of what you already scheduled to do?

For example, the plan I have for myself I timed it and takes 45 mins to complete. If I have more time on my hands, should I add more random exercises or just redo the muscles I was already working on for more volume?

Women’s workout book?

Basically title. Does anyone have any recommendations for strength/muscle training specifically for women? I am a runner, however want to get lean and toned. Have no idea where to start. I do not want to just exercise, I want a plan.

Positive Weight Gain

My father passed and all I was doing was vaping and not eating. I was prescribed remeron in addition to an SSRI for my diagnosis. I went from 5'5 113lbs to 132lbs in about 2-3 months. Yes, I have taken a break because I am back at my healthy weight and don't want to risk gaining more than I can control, but the weight gain along with working out, have made me physically stronger and looking healthier! Just wanted to put it out there that not all of the weight gain side effects can be negative! Good luck on all of your journeys in feeling better!

Ghosting?

My therapist shared with me recently that I always "show up" meaning, I always keep my appointments with her. Life happens and I sometimes may have to cancel or reschedule, but I always get back on track with therapy. To me, it is just another responsibility of life and I'm happy to do it since I have been making progress.

She shared many of her clients "ghost" her or are very inconsistent with therapy. I don't understand it, when I want to stop seeing her, I have enough respect for her to let her know. Have any of you ghosted your therapist or haven't been consistent for a reason other than it not being a good fit? I feel like as an adult, a client should be able to end the relationship respectfully, regardless of the reason (unless something utterly disrespectful happened). Thoughts?

Overall advice

I have finally started to feel the benefits after a few months (take it at 9am), I have mentioned to my psych that I start to lose focus and ruminate again when I get home from work (5-6pm). She advised I may need a higher dose, and to specify that it wore out over time. The Dr advised me since I feel benefits he does not plan to increase. I started taking it at 11 instead to last longer and I feel it lasting longer but ruminate again later at night. I'm only on 10mg, I rarely see that dose mentioned on this sub. I feel good, but am curious if I'm missing out on feeling even better. Thoughts?

Advice

My niece is 14 and going into high school in September. She currently plays rec, she is not athletic, knows basic skills/rules, and not up to the skill level of other athletes her age. HOWEVER, she is very coachable, just was never properly shown and she's willing to learn and put in the work. Ironically, I am an assistant softball coach and played at the collegiate level. I feel terrible I was not there for her, but I would like to start training with her this Summer.

First, is it possible to get her to skill level by the time high school tryouts start (8-9 months)? There are 3 teams (freshman, JV Varsity) all I want her to do is make the freshman team. Is this possible if I practice with her 3-4 times a week? any tips I would greatly appreciate!

Is running a new trend?

I am a beginner, started in September. It's been such an inspiring hobby (I could barely run 10 mins straight, let alone a 5 or 10k that I can do now!) Anyway, I am not a heavy social media user, but I have occasionally researched about running, training plans, etc.

My IG and TikTok feeds are mainly about running now. Is this due to the algorhythm or has running 5ks a new trend amongst people (aged 30-40?). There is so much relatable content, I am just curious if I am I late to the party or did I hop on the trend myself based off the inspiration of social media? The amounts of local running clubs and variety of people signing up for 5ks seem so popular!

While we are on the topic, let me know if there is anyone on social media I can follow that inspire or give good content!
