Undergraduate Studies - Dissertation Survey

Hey Reddit, my deadline is due in 30ish hours, and I need to conduct this survery and analyse it before then. Figured I'd share here and answer anyone's survey as a thank you to those in the same boat as me. :)

I just double checked the rules and added all information onto the survey, and will post below too!

Hi there, and welcome to my little survey on **"How do editors shape and change the reality of a film’s narrative through the creative choice of cutting?".** This survey is for my level 6 final project (dissertation), where I am investigating how powerful the cutting is within editing.

This is a survey for my studies at MetFilm School Manchester, Student Number 1193223. My name is Daniel Morris-Broome, and my student email is [1193223@sfsstudents.ac.uk](mailto:1193223@sfsstudents.ac.uk). My lecturer is Rowenna Baldwin. [rowennabaldwin@metfilm.ac.uk](mailto:rowennabaldwin@metfilm.ac.uk)

For my practical experiment, I edited together two scenes from some stock footage and was only allowed to use a straight cut to separate my clips, only use 3-4 different camera angles to limit my camera variety, ensuring my experiment isn't contaminated with too much camera variety, and only being permitted to use the same camera takes. In addition, I have not added any colour grades or sound effects to the raw camera files.

I wanted to see how much you can 'fight a script' with its original intention as well as bend and twist an actor's performance in post-production using the same performances in these takes to create two different scenes with their own motive and intention behind them.

No information is going to be saved after completion. You can withdraw at any time. No personal data is being collected.
