Paid at pump with rewards number, app said 58 cents saving, irl it was 30 cents. Scam

I just wasted gas driving to 2 different 711 locations. The first one was a 7-11 convenience store but Exxon gas. Then I drove to another location, the app claimed I had 58 cents savings, so my fuel price should have been 3.97. After authorizing my card and entering my rewards number, it was only 30 cents, I paid 4.25. The clerk inside was no help. I contacted customer support and they had no explanation for why I was given the wrong price. I was offered a free fucking carwash. There isn’t even a car wash at the majority of the locations I go to. And I don’t want a carwash! I’m about to move and drive to a state that doesn’t even have 7-11 so it’s useless. I want my fuel discount that was supposedly offered to me.

Pretty sure this is intentional. Lie about the price on the app, then it adjust and rips me off when I actually pump my gas. The customer service rep said he’d document my complaint as “feedback” and that I would not receive any contact from customer service about my complaint. This fuel rewards is a scam and false advertising with no consistency or accountability.

I have Spanish roommates, one speaks English and the other is his mother who speaks none. I’ve been making an effort to speak Spanish with his mother to make conversation and be friendly. But I keep embarrassing myself or they look at me crazy when I say some things from Google Translate. Today I said “hangers” which is “perchas” in Spain but “ganchos” in Latin America. And it wasn’t a word they were familiar with even when I showed them on the app.

And it’s not just words. Google Translate also doesn’t have a way to speak formally. I’d like to use “usted” when speaking to an elder, but the app only uses informal conjugations. It’s been years since I studied Spanish, so I’ve used the app to help fill in gaps in my vocabulary. But I don’t know if I can even trust this app for basic conversation now. Seems like it can translate anything *from* Spanish to English, but not the other way around.

Is there a setting in the mobile app to set a region or dialect?? Especially when the largest population of Spanish speakers in the world aren’t in Spain.

I’m on the mobile app, iOS 26.
