Solo day out ideas?

For context, I’m writing this from a very busy pub beer garden where I’m sat on my own and feeling like a complete weirdo.

I live on my own near the centre of Notts. My partner is long distance and a shift worker, so we see each other every other week or so, but my issue is with what to do on the lovely summer days where I am completely on my own but can’t stomach staying in the flat (I have no garden, unfortunately).

What do other solo people do on days like these?

I would consider myself a novice baker - I’ve done a few larger layer cakes before for family birthdays but this cake is my favourite so far and I wanted to share it. My wonderful MIL (or future MIL really) loves bees so I wanted to give this a go for her special birthday, as a surprise.

It’s not the most neat and tidy cake, but it was (if I do say so myself) delicious. It was also very large and was very heavy!

The cake layers are coffee and caramelised white chocolate, with a whipped coffee ganache filling and a vanilla swiss meringue buttercream coating.

I then dripped non-whipped coffee ganache around the cake to (sort of) look like honey. I also made my own bumble bee icing transfers and honeycomb to decorate the top.
