Help training adult cats

First time posting because I am at my wits end! I adopted my two cats, Amora and Kiwi (not siblings but bonded during their fostering) around two years ago. I love them to death, they were the first pets | got as an adult living on my own. This of course means I spoiled them and didn't train them properly.
They jump on tables and counters when I'm cooking and eating, they scratch and howl at the door when I put them out of the bedroom (because they want to play all night), they get on the laptop when I'm working, and nothing I try to discipline them seems to work!
My boyfriend and I are about to move to a very beautiful apartment, wood panels everywhere and expensive furniture, and I cannot afford them ruining it! We even considered renting a lesser nice one because we're scared of the cats costing us thousands in damages to the wood! Besides that, it’s unfair to my boyfriend to have to deal with two very misbehaving cats, especially when he works from home, and we want to learn how to train them properly, together, since I am clearly way too indulgent.
They are the sweetest, cuddliest girls, I don't want to ban them from hanging out with us when we're eating or working, but I don't know what else to do! | tried clapping at them and telling them off (they don't care), immediately putting them away, like picking them up the second they jump somewhere (they run straight back), I try to redirect their attention, they have toys and scratching poles everywhere, but they simply prefer doing whatever they shouldn’t be doing!
What else can I do? Are they simply too stuck in their ways after growing up ruleless?
