Hi all, new to the group but not to Reddit or how these things work. Just looking for a tad bit of help while hosting my nieces and nephews while my sister recovers from surgery especially with the kids out of school

Hi all, looking for some advice on how I can help my brother through…whatever he’s going through. My brother has always been an odd ball zero social queues very to himself locked in on video games his own world… doesn’t answer calls or text no real.. emotional connection type of person. but I’m genuinely worried about him. When he was still in the same state we lived 5 minutes away and would see him every so often and he seemed…okay. Didn’t leave the house much if not for his rooomate who is a mutual friend of ours for 10+ years. Very much a homebody. Doesn’t have a career or path picked out. No hobbies outside of games. Doesn’t talk to either of our parents. When he and said roommate decided they were going to move nearly 1,000 miles away with other friends we both agreed it may be a fresh start for him and a wake up call of sorts. However talking to said friend/roommate today they tell me he hasn’t even set up his room, hasn’t left the house to explore the new state out of when roommate has dragged him out. Wearing shorts and other clothes that are not helpful in winter because they (don’t fit him). Hes isolating himself worse than he did here. we already rarely talked and I have to damn near make up an excuse to message him. He’s applied to a ton of jobs and nothing has worked. But he’s showing up in shorts to interviews? He’s 28 and truly a smart individual. But I’m genuinely worried he’s become dangerously depressed. I love him. We use to be very very close. I remember being that depressed and trying to control alt delete myself from the planet… I guess I’m asking what can I do to help him from so far? How can I make him realize he’s loved and cared for?
