Is it worth keeping a backup pair of glasses for an elderly parent?

I've been thinking about getting a second pair of prescription glasses for my dad just to keep around as a backup. He relies on his glasses every day and if his main pair broke or got lost we'd be kind of screwed until we could get another pair made.

For those of you caring for an older parent who wears glasses full time, do you keep an extra pair around? I'm wondering if it's better to get a more affordable second pair with the same prescription or just wait until there's actually a reason to replace the main ones.

How do you know if an online glasses store is actually trustworthy?

I really wanna buy my first pair of premium sunglasses, but where I live right now is terrible for this kind of stuff. We don't have anything close by. It's a very small town in the US, and the closest optical store or any type of independent eyewear company is hours away, so the only option is really ordering online.

But the biggest worry I have is actually finding a place that has good stuff, like good customer support and just good shipping, and obviously good quality.

I'm also a little worried about authenticity since some of the sunglasses I've been looking at are a few hundred bucks, and I really don't wanna spend that much just to end up with something fake or have a nightmare trying to return them if something goes wrong.

So how do you guys actually tell if an online glasses store is trustworthy before ordering from them? Is there anything specific you look for, or any stores you've ordered from multiple times and had a good experience with?

Where do you buy quality sunglasses online?

So I work in construction, and I'm pretty much out the whole day. Sunglasses are something that are on my face the whole day. So I'm really looking for something that sits very well on the face, that's comfortable, and gives me good UV protection. I don't really have a price in mind; I'm just looking for something that will hold up for a while. Looks don't matter.

But I'm not sure what I should focus on in terms of polarized lenses and how durable the frames are. I assume titanium frames will be the best option, but I want recommendations from people who are kind of in the same boat as I am.

And reason why im choosing online is because the closest optical store is legit 2 hours away from our “town”
