Glasses I bought last month to celebrate Pride month
I am still very much obsessed!

I am still very much obsessed!
Recently picked up the Paloceras Havana Gold P2 frames. I love the angles and surface details.
When I first started buying glasses, I thought if a frame looked good, everything else would work itself out.
Over time, I've realized everyone seems to have one feature they won't compromise on—whether it's bridge fit, weight, temple length, lens height, nose pads, or something else entirely.
For me, paying attention to comfort has made a much bigger difference than I expected.
What's the one feature you always check before considering a new frame?
So I don’t know how I feel about these…they’re definitely a lot…well less, but also more, than I typically do. More stand out, more odd. I’m not sure I have the swagger for these.
The quality is EXCELLENT. As good as anything I’ve touched. Light. Lenses are great. Really impressed with them. Any styling failures are my own, and not the glasses.
Masunaga was correct - JMM are dang nice. I don’t think they look very Ringo - more Leon (and I hated that movie), or the kid from the Quick and the Dead (I loved that movie).
Also posting a photo of a buddy rocking them.
I’m thinking of picking up my first Masunaga One Hundred in Blue Demi (two-tone) with Volcane progressives. First, I’m planning to get the Dita GM Nine in Root Beer, then this one. I love its homage to the classic 000 shape, and it’s probably one of the few that’s almost wide enough for me. However, my optician noticed the temples flare outward slightly, suggesting the frame may be under a bit of tension. Is it still too small? What do you think?
Made this pair for a friend as a gift. I love the sledge series by JF Rey, decided to get him this orange and titanium frame and fitted it with 40% orange tint, 85% brown photochromic and a blue flash to set it off. Think it turned out wonderfully and think he’ll love it!
Some said on reddit that the don’t fit, but I like them Of course, these are the sample omes. I am waiting for the final ones with the proper lenses and no mirror effect :) face horrible in these pics haha
I came across what I believe is an older model of Ahlem sunglasses.
Model - I think - is „Place Saint Sulpice“.
Siimilar to Voltaore glasses frame but slightly larger lenses @ 50.
Brown lens with anti reflective coating on the back.
I love thx type of style without the bridge but really unsure if it’s a good model as sunglasses for women - but the frame would be too big for me as prescription (have -6) …
Does anyone own any Ahlem sunglasses and can tell me about wear tear and quality / lens quality?
Photos and screenshot in reply.
Kind regards
JaS
I just got a new pair of Zeiss progressive digital lens 1.67 with Photofusion X Extra Grey and Duravision Plus Platinum UV coating for almost 3 weeks now, loving it so far.
Also, this is my first time ever spending quite a huge amount on prescription glasses, obviously quite new to all the new lens techs and features that are available in the market. I came across some posts about Zeiss lens with gradient tint, they all look very lovely, especially the pistachio tint.
Am wondering if gradient tint works/pairs well with Photofusion X Extra Grey. It wasn't shown in my local optician's Zeiss catalogue, is there actually such option available to have gradient tint + Photofusion X?
Besides, my myopia is on the higher side (-5.5 on both eyes) with -1.00 astigmatism and visual acuity of 6/8 (reduced from 8/8) if I recalled correctly, am I better off with clear over gradient tint glasses for clarity (considering all lighting conditions) or it doesn't matter?
Asking these for my future prescription glasses, coz I really would love to have some gradient tint on my glasses for aesthetic changes but here to seek advice.
Hi
In the process of having some lenses done. Does anyone have any examples of Transitions Colourtouch gradient lenses. How are the aesthetically?
It is between this or Zeiss Duravision Gold with a Transitions lens. Being in the UK this would mean no base tint...
I want them to look classy as its a high end frame
Thinking like lindberg, ic Berlin, Mykita… etc… I need a pair that’s super comfy and the least annoying but looks good for work stuff. Preferably gender neutral (no cat eyes 😅) And has petite or small fits. Different end than I normally look at. Whats out there?
Adding: very light progressive RX, not sure what would be lighter than titanium. I have a super narrow bridge and a face with a kids proportions.
My newest optical frame and my first from Masahiro Maruyama. I’m a huge fan of his entire catalog, particularly the Broken collection which this frame belongs to. Paired them with Zeiss Photofusion Pioneer and DV Platinum
I see ads for ultrasonic cleaners popping up on my Instagram feed. A quick check with Gemini et all says that they’re safe to use with high-end acetates and lenses but somehow I am not sure. Hence reaching out to experienced eyewear veterans here:
Are they safe to use with sunglasses and optical glasses where we have coatings and frames like JMM, etc., where you have acetate, titanium, and others with gold and silver? What about the impact on the lenses and coatings?
I currently clean my lenses with distilled water spray and use a soft tissue /microfiber cloth to dry them. For acetates, I use a microfiber cloth for just wiping them at the end of the day before storing them back.
Sharing this because it genuinely changed how I buy glasses. I started this year, already have 10+ pairs, and my total spend is still less than one pair from a traditional optometrist. Here's $15 off - no expiration, works anywhere. Hope it helps someone!
I was looking around on online at Matsuda, Moscot, and Masahiro Maruyama and I keep coming across the same thing. All the lenses are 46-49mms across with 52mm being seemingly the largest lens width and it’s like one frame on the site. Then in contrast all the bridges are much wider at 23-26mms.
All the glasses I’ve worn and seen in the industry that are your Luxotica or Warby Parker type variety usually have a lens width of 52-57mms and bridge of 15-19mms.
I am someone who needs a lens of AT LEAST 54mms usually. Currently wearing a frame that’s 55-18-140.
Do these frames just fit way differently across the board? How does the wide bridge and narrow lens compare? The measurements seem so radically different to any glasses I’ve tried and yet everyone on here looks great and frames fit beautifully. Do you need a specific head for them?
Hi all!
As I am placing on the title, which is the brand that you think offers the best quality acetate for less than 100 USD?
I have seen brands like donahugh and vincero, but would like to hear your suggestions:)
Hi all,
I have a project that involves making sunglasses made of real insect wings. I’ve made the lens and frame but would love to speak to a specialist at this point for some inspo and tips - I live in Berlin and was wondering if anyone knew anyone who I could meet face to face to have a convo with . Thanks! :)

I started my JMM journey with the Hyannis (Bordeaux Empire) which I bought via the official website last month. I added the Dealan 53 (Hudson/Nimbus) yesterday in Sydney where I found a great optician with a huge JMM selection.
The acetate on the Dealan looks almost black in pictures, but in the sunlight you can see the deep blue colour of the Hudson.
I am considering replacing the lenses in the Dealan later on, but will first give it a try in the original configuration.
One of my recent additions, picked up this Factory900 a few months ago and just recently got lenses installed. Paired with a light brown tint with a ruby flash mirror. This is my second pair from this brand but definitely won’t be my last.
I realised I didn’t show you my finished Lunetterie Generale frames after I got the lenses done. I finally went with Hoya Sensity Colours - Gradient Blue photochromic lenses and I’m delighted with how they turned out. They are becoming one of my fave go-to sunnies!
*Edited for clarity re: lens colour
