I am applying as a in-state resident who wants to get into general engineering CSTAT.

Major: Mechanical Engineering.

Rank: 22.4% (142/632) - I go to a pretty competitive high school.

SAT: 1510 (790 M, 720 R).

GPA: Unweighted - 3.87/4, Weighted - 4.32/5.

Course Rigor: AP Physics C: E&M, AP Calc BC, Dual Credit English IV, AP Precal (5), AP Physics I (5), AP Lang (3), AP CSP, Dual Credit US History, AP World History (3).

ECs and Activities: Lead engineer of org that 3D prints prosthetics and donates internationally; 9+ yrs competitive club & varsity swimmer; co-founded pressure washing business; founded charity org ($2k+ raised); 40hr engineering job shadow in Cambridge; TSA (1st reg, 8th state drone); DECA state qualifier; co-founded elementary tutoring.

Does submitting in early august rather than mid-late august make a difference?

I heard that people only start receiving their ais portal on September 1st, but if that is the case, then would there be any advantage to submitting your application on August 1st vs lets say like August 20th?

I am a rising senior who is applying to Texas A&M engineering (specifically Mechanical Engineering) as a high-income, non auto-admit, Texas resident. I have a Weighted GPA of a 4.32, Unweighted GPA of a 3.86, and a 100 point weighted of a 99.04. I am approximately ranked top 20% out of 632 students. I have an SAT of 1510 (790 Math, 720 Reading). I am taking the Engineering Endorsement. Relevant Coursework: AP Physics I, AP Precalculus, ACC Chem, ACC Alg 2, ACC Geom, ACC Alg, AP CSP. I will be taking AP Calculus BC and AP Physics C next year. Here are my extracurriculars:

Engineering Job Shadow (Cambridge Research): Completed 40 hours of work observing multidisciplinary engineering teams.

(11th grade only) Lifeguard: Monitored swimmers and enforced safety protocols.

Projects

(11th grade - present) Medical Prosthetics For All – Lead Engineer & High School Chapter Co-Founder: Co-founded the chapter to design and manufacture low-cost prosthetic hands.

(10th grade - present) Rally For A Cause – Founder: Founded a student-led fundraising organization and managed tournaments. Raised over $2000 and hosted 5 tournaments with 50+ players.

(11th grade only) Elementary Tutoring – Co-Founder: Partnered with a peer to plan structured lessons and tutor students weekly (Math and English)

Awards & Achievements

Technology Student Association:

Placed 1st at Regionals in the UTE Drone Competition and advanced to place 8th at the State level.

Placed 3rd at Regionals in the Manufacturing Prototype category.

DECA:

Ranked 30th out of 1,000 participants in the Stock Market Game at Regionals.

Qualified for the State Competition in Marketing Management Roleplay.
