Happy Saturday walkies! Do your Tzus wear shoes?

I think I’m going to need to get him some shoes soon as I worry about the concrete we walk on being too hot. I tested myself barefoot and didn’t mind walking on it but I can tell we’ll need some shoes for him soon. Any recommendations are welcome!

Shih Tzu or Lhasa Apso?

I rescued my furry boi from a puppy mill 3 years ago, so we have no historical context of his lineage. Both the shelter and the vet claims he’s a Shih Tzu, but I think he has Lhasa Apso in him as well (they’re cousin-breeds, after all)

I couldn’t care less what he truly is, I adore him either way. But I am curious what other Tzu lovers think he might be?

Is this kind of trash overflow normal at other apartments in Columbus?

I just renewed my lease in Upper Arlington and I’ve never seen the trash overflowing like this until the last 6 weeks. Trash pickup comes Tuesdays, and I have no idea if the apartment complex gets charged a fee for cleaning up overflow or if it gets passed on to residents.

Update on missing dog

UPDATE ON SADIE — PLEASE READ & SHARE
MISSING CINCINNATI, OHIO (45240)

Ohio Fuzzy Pawz has partnered with a professional trapper and Lost Pet Recovery team to assist with Sadie’s search efforts. At this time, we are shifting from an active chase/search approach to a strategic recovery plan specifically designed for frightened, flight-risk dogs.

While we know many people are concerned, we do want to emphasize that we remain cautiously optimistic. Dogs in situations like this — especially puppy mill survivors and fearful dogs — often go into survival mode and can stay hidden for extended periods of time, particularly near wooded areas, creek beds, and brush lines. This behavior is very common and does not mean all hope is lost.
Sadie was last seen in the Ridgevale Drive (45240) area of Cincinnati near the creek/wooded section. She is wearing a collar with Ohio Fuzzy Pawz contact information and a pale blue/white camo hoodie.

IMPORTANT:
• Please do NOT chase, call out loudly, or approach her quickly if spotted.
• Do NOT post sightings publicly in comments.
• If seen, quietly note the exact location, direction of travel, and time.

Well-meaning attempts to catch frightened dogs can unintentionally push them farther from the area and make recovery more difficult. Our goal now is to keep Sadie calm, localized, and give the recovery team the best possible chance to bring her home safely.

We are also asking nearby residents to:
• Check garages, sheds, under decks, & crawl. spaces
• Review security camera footage
• Leave food sources undisturbed if you notice repeated activity

Thank you to everyone who has searched, shared posts, distributed flyers, and supported Sadie’s family during this incredibly difficult time. We know how deeply she is loved, and we are committed to doing everything we can to get this little girl safely back home.

Comments on the original posting have been turned off to help avoid confusion and ensure all sightings and information are directed to the recovery team as efficiently as possible.

Sharing with permission from the owner. Last seen on May 4th, 2026 at 10570 Ridgevale Dr, Cincinnati. Here is the official missing page.

“If little Sadie is found, she will likely be severely dehydrated, exhausted, and suffering from hypothermia. Signs include intense shivering (which may stop if the dog is too far gone), extreme lethargy, stiff muscles, and a weak pulse.

This situation is a veterinary emergency and if you're not able to get ahold of me (513) 608-8382 cell assuming she is found alive ... PLEASE take her to Grady's Animal Hospital 9255 Winton Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45231 ... we would be ever so grateful and willing to pay some sort of reward for any efforts to get her back to us.
