I just got an old CD player from the thrift store and when you put in a disc it spins up and jumps to the very end of the last track and stops. Does anyone know why this might happen and if there's something I can do about it?

I can just press the skip buttons and go to any track and it will play fine, it just doesn't seem to find the beginning when it starts up.

I was talking to my partner and made a reference to a character from a show I watched as a kid, there was a character always gnawing on a full tube of salami. But I cannot find anything online, I can't tell if I'm just making it all up.

- The character is always holding a tube of salami and just taking bites out of it like it's nonchalant.

- Maybe it wasn't a recurring bit but just in one episode?

- My brain is picturing a security guard?

- I think it was a 2000's Nickelodeon or family channel show
