For actors who have booked - are regularly booking.. what is the process like after the initial zoom / self tape submission for a series regular / leading roles in TV & Film? I imagine every project is different but curious to know the average process and steps.. And how the process for tv and film differ from each other?

I am doing a zoom audition for the first time, it’s a casting director I haven’t met before and he gave the option of a self tape or a zoom audition. While I love the comfort of having control on filming my own self tape I want to challenge myself to meet with the CD, he also mentioned he’d like to read the scenes with me. I am wondering —

a) is it like filming a regular self tape but the filming is done on zoom? (If so, should I use my phone instead of computer to log into the call for better quality?)

b) any tips / what to expect?

I’ve only done self tapes and I’m wondering for a zoom call with a casting director for an audition, Do they film through the zoom itself? And if so do actors usually go on their phone instead of their computer for better quality? Or are the CDs on the call like an acting coach while you film the tape on your camera?
