Is getting an A+ certificate worth it if there aren't a ton of jobs available locally for it?

I'm looking to get my A+ certification to get a Help Desk role or similar. My friend who works in IT says it is the standard certification for breaking into this type of role.

My problem is I don't see a ton of locally available jobs that I could get with the A+ certification. I could commute further out or look for remote work. So given this is it worth getting the A+ certification knowing that there aren't a ton of local jobs for it, but instead knowing that I will need to commute or look for remote work?

How do I stop nicking myself with my razor?

I'm a grown man but I have an issue where I keep nicking myself in the same spot roughly right around my mouth. How do I stop doing this? I use a good shaving cream and usually use a BIC Hybrid 5 Flex razor. I'm not interested in a straight razor or going electric (skin is too sensitive to it).

Does anyone else dred family gatherings?

Edit: dread, not dred.

I'm currently living with some family and they have kids and it's generally a very busy household. Frequently we have family get togethers but I kinda despise them. It's just too many people at once and it is very over-stimulating. Plus these gatherings happen 1-2 times a week which is a lot for me personally.

Since I'm basically couch surfing though, there isn't anywhere for me to go. There's no room or place for me to go decompress in. Does anyone have any advice on dealing with this?

The only upside I can find is that this arrangement should only last another 3 ish months.

Anyone else struggling with hand tremors?

I've been struggling with hand tremors lately. For my mental health medications, I take nortriptyline, Abilify, and Adderall. These have been very effective for treating my major depression and the Abilify (according to my doctor) works as an atypical mood stabilizer and makes the nortriptyline more effective.

The main problem we've been having is that I've had hand tremors. I mostly ignored them for a while, but they finally got to a point where I was sick of them. So I told my psychiatrist about it and he swapped the Abilify for Lamictal. He said he thought that Abilify was the most likely culprit. That went very poorly because I started to have very bad mood swings and angry outbursts, that were controlled very well under the Abilify. On top of that the hand tremors continued. I then thought that the Adderall might be the problem, so I stopped it, and the tremors got better but weren't completely gone.

So I made the decision to stop the Lamictal and go back to Abilify because I can't function properly without the Abilify. I don't like messing with my medications like this but I feel like I need to do something to help myself. My psychiatrist also told me that he doesn't really know what to do next if the Lamictal doesn't work and I just don't know what else to do. I think once I get stabilized, I'm going to find a new psychiatrist because I feel like my current one is in over his head a little bit.

I have an appointment on Tuesday with my primary care provider and I'm going to ask him for his input because he can likely see the bigger picture of the whole scenario. I'm just sick of these annoying tremors but I don't what else to do because I don't know what is actually causing them. Anyone have any advice on this situation or went through something similar to this?

I'm 31 with nothing saved for retirement, how screwed am I, and what can I do about it?

I've been working since my early 20s and have struggled with holding down jobs. I have no 401k and nothing saved outside of a few hundred dollars for emergencies. I've recently (last 1-2 years) improved my mental health drastically and have had much better success at holding down a job.

Problem now is I worry since I don't have a 401k or any real savings that I will be working until the day I die, and I'd like to financially better myself to avoid that, if at all possible. Where do I start? My cousin (who I trust) has been helping me manage my money and we have an envelope system that works pretty well but I still do worry about the future.

Anyone have any short videos on dealing with racing thoughts and overwhelm?

Title basically. Just feeling very overloaded and have so so much to do. Hoping this new mood stabilizer my doc put me helps even me out.

What am I to do if sin has become like second nature to me?

I've been really trying hard to turn away from sin and towards God. I've confessed and done my best to be repentant. I am really trying my best to give it all to God and to do my best but some sins are so deeply ingrained in me that it's hard to stop them.

If I had to pick a top 4 of these sins that are deeply ingrained I'd say they are…

  1. Lust/pornography - I've cut back significantly on this but I've found it extremely difficult to get totally away from this one.

  2. Lying - Lying about little and big things.

  3. Hatefulness - This is usually when I find myself getting angry very quickly. Sometimes I say some really terrible things and use slurs (when I'm alone).

  4. Piracy (Kinda stealing?) - Particularly using things like modded android apps that let you get things for free that you'd normally have to pay for, so stealing in a sense.

So yeah, a lot of these sins have unfortunately become like second nature to me and I feel really bad about it and I know I need to change.

So besides turning towards God and abiding, what else am I supposed to do?

Does anyone else suffer from lite/mild paranoia?

I sometimes find myself paranoid that other people are talking about me, negatively. I think it's because I have low self-esteem.

Was just wondering if my fellow AuADHDers have the same or similar thing too.

Like others, I do the classic move of getting hyper-fixated on a hobby, doing it for maybe a couple of weeks, at most and then drop it to move onto the next one. I'm tired of making no progress on anything. I know some people will tell me to just go with the flow and to work with it and not against it. I'm just sick of being a master of none. Like Professor Finbarr Calamitous from Jimmy Neutron, remember him? maybe? He was a villain and his defining characteristic was he could never finish anything. That's exactly how I feel, but I'm not evil lol.
