Rude neighbor. Advice long post .
So, there is a guy that lives in the area . My partner and I have had a few encounters with while walking our dog .
Context , these run-ins happened in the alley . We are in an area where many houses have signage from the alderman regarding pet waste. The front of his house does not have signage nor does the back .
The alley in question, has several dogs on both sides of the alley . Additionally, there is/was a family of stray cats being fed by the neighbors that have taken up residency in and around the alley.
The neighbor in question, does seem a bit off or at the very least, someone that is angry at the world .
My run in . In July of last year, I was walking my dog through the alley . The guy is tossing out trash and asks me if I’m the guy that lets my dog shit in front of his garage door. I said, excuse me? He then goes on and on about how he ran over shit and it’s in his garage and someone told him it was me . I told him that there are many dogs in the area and I would like to know who exactly told him it was me . Of course he couldn’t say who.
It wasn’t me, and I don’t mean it in the Shaggy way either. Additionally, I have seen shit all throughout the alley . Smaller sized shit that could have come from a small dog or a cat . We have a smaller dog.
As we walked away, he kept looking and yelled,” you don’t even have a bag .” It was in my pocket . I yelled back, in my pocket .
Again, we have passes his garage over the months and have seen other animal turds off to the side and sometimes in front . Often , there is a row of almost knee high weeds at various times. I bring this up to say that his garage and surrounding area is not the best kept.
Recently ,my partner walked our dog. My dog stopped to piss on the nearly knee high weeds in front of his garage. The garage door opens and the guy comes out and yells at her “ he can’t piss there” and then says “pissy dog , what does it say about the owner.” My partner did handle it well and told the guy that she understands it’s his home and he wants to maintain it , but he doesn’t need to throw insults. He kept talking shit as they proceeded down the alley .
I understand it’s frustrating to have animal waste in front of the weeds leading to your garage , but it doesn’t allow him to toss out random insults or accusations at anyone with a dog.
Part of me wants to knock on his door and talk with him , but he seems like a male Karen at best an unstable person at worst.
Thoughts ?
